Beyoncé knocked on the front door of Jay's mother's house. It wasn't long until she came to the door.

"Hey Bey, it's so good to see you. How are you doing? Come on in here girl," Gloria said as she hugged Beyoncé and let her in the house.

"I'm good Ms. Gloria. I had to make sure that I came to visit you," Beyoncé said as she hugged her back.

"I'm so glad you did. Look at you! You look so beautiful!" Gloria said as she closed the door behind Beyoncé.

"Thank you. How have you been since the last time I saw you?" Beyoncé asked as she sat down on the couch.

"I've been good honey. Just trying to take care of myself is all. Trying to talk some sense into that son of mine about that woman he wants to marry," Gloria replied as she took a seat next to Beyoncé.

"Don't even get me started on Gabrielle," Beyoncé rolled her eyes as she imitated the way Gabrielle says he name.

"The criminal defense attorney," Gloria imitated before they both started laughing.

"That girl works my last nerve. She hates my guts for no reason. She hates my relationship with Shawn so much. I have no idea why he even wants to be with her," Beyoncé told her.

"He'd never admit it, but a mother knows her child. He spent so much of his life sleeping around and just being an asshole. Then he got with you, and it opened his eyes to everything he'd been missing out on. He's realized that he's getting older, and he's realizing all of the things he wants in his life, like a wife and kids. A lot of his classmates that he went to school with are enjoying their lives with spouses and kids, and I think he's just scared of getting older and not having that. I truly believe that he's settling for her because she's pretty and successful, and he can't have you," Gloria told her.

"Oh please, what Shawn and I had is over and has been for two years. We're better off as friends. We just wanted different things, and as friends, we can love each other and support each other without any obligations," Beyoncé replied.

"I'm still holding out hope for you two to get back together. You guys make the best couple, and the love that you have is so rare. It's once in a lifetime. You guys are so good for each other, and you bring out the best in each other. I've never seen Jay happier than when he was with you, and the same for you. You guys are just meant to be together in my opinion," Gloria said to Beyoncé.

"I don't know about all that, but I just want him to be happy. I talked to him last night, and I asked him if he was happy. He said that he was, but I can tell when Shawn's lying to me. There are just so many things that I pick up on about her and their relationship that just make me question it," Beyoncé continued.

"She just gives off a bad vibe for me," Gloria added.

"I'm really just not trying to seem like a jealous ex. I just really think he deserves better. She's so uptight, and she really doesn't understand him. She hates my relationship with him and with you. She hates that Shawn and I are so close and have been through so much together. She hates our inside jokes and little handshake thing that we do. She just hates me in general, and all I've done is be myself," Beyoncé told her.
