|Chapter fifteen|

"And here you go!" Chase jumped in happiness as he just goaled.

Apparently, we both were in the nearest park, passing the time by playing soccer because we had nothing to do. It's been almost a week since the Rejuvenate Cafe has been open and since then me, Mae and Ryan are frequent costumers of the cafe. We've been visiting it almost everyday and of course, why wouldn't we? I mean, afterall that's our favourite place. The week passed by real quick where I had been super busy in classes because now the burden of the final year has been started. As much as I want to pass the school and go ahead to some college; I don't want to do that because for that I've to give exams which sucks. But that's how it is, and we all have to deal with it, either willingly or forcibly.

"So my dear sister Skyler Grayson, as usual, I won. It's a habit to me now, you know?" He smirked.

"Okay Chase, you gotta keep that ego down because apparently we played three games and out of which you only won one match and that too because I let you win and the rest two I won."

"Excuses.........." He laughed as he took the ball in his hands and we started heading off to home.

It was a 5 minutes walk to our home. We reached the home and I saw dad sitting in the living room reading newspaper while sipping his tea. Classic.

He lifted his eyes up from the newspaper and realised that we were here. "Oh so you guys came. So, how was the game? And most important, who won?" Dad asked us with a grin on his face.

"Of course your daughter dad." I opened the fridge and took a bottle of mango juice smiling.

"Dad she cheated, okay?," Chase said, "because basically we played three games out of which two games she won only because of cheating." And then he turned to me. "So, it's called cheating not winning."

"Excuses....."

I ran upstairs to my room too excited to change out of my sweaty clothes.

It was Thursday today and to my surprise power has been out for about 24 hours. We thought that the power won't go now, but to our unfortunate luck; it was gone. The power did came in between but then again, it was out.

As my room was on the furthest left of the house where my windows were facing Aaron's house, or might I be more specific; Aaron's bedroom; and when I looked outside the window, my eye caught Aaron's room where he wasn't to be seen but his mom was cleaning the mess he made, huh.

I quickly changed out of my hot clothing into a comfy tank top and shorts. Just when I was about to get comfortable I heard a loud knock at door followed by a voice.

"Aye" I immediately recognised the voice, "I'm coming in Muffin."

I rolled my eyes as he got inside but I pranced down the stairs followed by him. "What could you possibly want?"

"My mom just told me to ask if you guys had a mixing bowl so we could borrow. She accidentally dropped ours and broke it yesterday and she needed one tonight." He stated blandly while sprawling out on my couch as if he lived here. Where is dad and Chase then?

I headed to the kitchen and grabbed the mixing bowl. "Here." I handed it to him. "Make sure you bring it back."

"Yep."

The next day, I was sitting in the living room while reading a novel. The power was still out and today was hotter than yesterday. Chase was at school because somehow there power wasn't out.
