|Chapter forty two|

"Thanks for the ride Caleb," I said getting out of the car.

"Well I'm not gonna say 'anytime' because you need to know that I still hate you." He said grinning and I knew he was joking but of course just that we talked a bit and he gave me ride home doesn't really make us friends. Not that I want to be his friend.

"The feelings will always remain mutual Caleb." I laughed as I shut the door and watch him drove away.

"Skye?" A voice said and I turned around.

"Oh hey Cedric," I tried to be polite even though I was mad at him. He literally left me at school all alone in the dark and he himself is home all safe and sound.

"I....I am so so sorry Skye!" He came towards me and hugged me tight. I didn't wanna wrap my arms around him but nonetheless I did because I missed my boyfriend. It's been quite a long since we have hangout and today when we were finally about to-well it didn't happen. He pulled back but still had his arms around my waist, "you must need an explanation."

"Look Ced, I should be mad at you and I am kinda mad but because it's been so long I've seen you I think I'm gonna let it slid 'cause I really missed you. But still it would help if you explain why you left me alone at school?"

"First of all, I am legitimate sorry for it. I swear, I would never do that. And I didn't mean to leave you there. Heck, I would never do that. What happened actually was that my second last period was free and mom needed me for some help so I came home that time still with the intention to hangout with you and that I've to go back to school five minutes before my last period. After I helped mom, I was about to leave when we heard a loud cry from our backyard. We ran there and it was Carter who had hurt himself real bad. He was playing football there and there was some huge blade with which he had cut his arm and there was so much blood. We freaked out. I immediately called our family doctor and he came and did the treatment which was required. And in all this chaos, it literally slipped out of my mind that I have plans with you today. I know I should have atleast called you but it just slipped and I'm genuinely—"

I pulled him tightly into a warm hug, "shhhh, it's okay. It's all fine. We can hangout later as well. But Carter needed you that time."

He tightened his grip on me, "he actually needed Aaron that time and we tried calling him but he wasn't picking up."

Ohhhh! Now I know. When we were saran wrapping, Aaron's phone kept blowing up with calls but he wasn't picking them and I didn't bother ask him.

"Am I interrupting something guys?" A very familiar voice said and we pulled back to see Aaron standing there in the same outfit which he wore at school, with his hands in the pockets of his jeans.

"No you aren't," Cedric said annoyingly.

I sighed, "well, how's Carter now? I want to see him."

Cedric was about to say but Aaron chimed in, "he's all fine right now and he's sleeping. And you should also go home and take some rest. It's 7:30 Grayson."

"Yeah I know...." I trailed off realising the time.

"And I forgot to tell you that Cedric was home," Aaron said to me, "as you were waiting for him at school. I came home and on seeing Carter I just forgot about it." He kinda looked apologetic about it.
