A tender warmth, a shimmering on my skin;
A pouring in of golden ephemerality
Reflecting the inescapable impermanence
And gentle beauty of our romance.

|Chapter twenty two|
I looked through the window as Ryan slowly pulled the car and the view in front of me took my breath away.
There were so many rides but the roller coaster held my eye contact. The tracks curled above like the spines of the weary, tracks held aloft of the people and all of it under a sky of surreal beauty within a park of trees that have stood for hundreds of years. The giant Ferris wheel stood strong in the middle of the park and I wondered how it would look at night.
Before Ryan could even park the car, Mae and Ashton jumped out of the car excitedly.
"Whoa!" They said in unison with a million dollars smile on their faces.
"Come on Skye!" Mae grabbed my hand and dragged me along. The beauty was too much to take in.
God, I love this.
I looked back at Aaron who wasn't in the car, he was actually talking to some random girl, her hand on his arm. Ofcourse.
After talking to her for a while he walked towards us and joined us standing right beside me.
"Didn't get some Aary?" I teased him giving him a nickname. Aary, haha.
"I don't want any of that." He wrapped his arm over my shoulder. "Because I've you Muffin." He nuzzled his face into my neck and immediately the hair on my back stood straight and my heart fluttered.
What effect does he have on me?
"I know I know, I've an effect on you." He winked at me.
"Did I say my words that loud?" He smirked. I glanced at Hannah who was giving me a glare and I internally did a victory dance.
"Attack time!" Ashton shouted in happiness and dragged Mae by her hand. Aaron and I looked at each other and laughed following them.
We headed to some of the rides and the rides were super fast and high that during every ride I was just about to puke. Well, Brad puked a lot of times. And Andrew was like as if he would just faint. But you know what was the best? The rollercoaster.
We were actually on the rollercoaster right now.
Click click click. The cart dragged itself up with effort as our hands tightened on the bar and our breath quickened in anticipation and fear.
Click click click.
Ryan who was sitting beside me laughed nervously, "It's awfully high isn't it?" and I try not to think about what will happen when we will reach the top.
Click click click.
I was the one who actually forced everyone to have a ride on this. They didn't wanna go on this as they were super scared. But now suddenly, I was full of doubts—why did I convince them that this was a good idea—but it was too late to turn back now.
Click click click.
I was so scared at this point now. I glanced at Aaron who was sitting on the other side of me and was already looking at me.
"You were so pumped about riding on this and now you're the one scared? Wow Muffin." He laughed.
I glared at him and started looking around to distract myself and for a moment I can see an entire kingdom of laughter and food and swooping machinery, then.....Click click whoosh. There is nowhere to go but down.
