~ Don't Run ~
Luckily when I walked out of the bathroom, the attractive stranger was no longer in sight.
I sighed in relief and walked back towards the dance floor desperate to find Alex with my drink. After a few minutes of searching, I finally found her back at the lounge talking with everybody on the couch.
I sat next to Alex and pick up the drink, I'm assuming was meant for me, and chugged it in record time.
"Damn Davina, didn't know you could finish a drink that fast," Alex said looking surprised and amused.
"I needed that drink more than anything," I told her placing the now empty glass back down.
"What happened?" She asked while turning her body more towards me.
"I will tell you later. The thought of repeating it makes me want to throw up," I said trying to shake the embarrassment.
"I took a break from dancing but I'm ready to get back out there, come on!"
Alex grabbed my hand and pulled me to the dance floor with her. I didn't see the mysterious guy anywhere so I figured he probably left soon after our encounter. I relaxed a bit feeling the buzz from the drink I chugged minutes ago.
I danced with Alex, swaying my hips to the music while singing along to the songs.
I lost track of time and realized I should probably drink water to sober up since I'm sure I would be taking care of Alex tonight.
"I'm going to get us some water, don't move."
"I don't want lame-ass water! Get my another drink please," Alex said still dancing to the music.
I laughed and rolled my eyes while heading back towards the bar. I reached the bar and waited for the bartender to notice me so I could get our drinks and leave.
A guy was also waiting at the bar and we started talking about nothing in particular.
It was different talking to him. I wasn't ready to pass out or throw up like I had been when I ran into the stranger by the bathrooms.
It's not that he wasn't attractive, I just didn't get the intimidating feeling from him as I did with the man from earlier.
I finally got the bartender's attention and placed my drink order. I noticed other people were sitting around the bar talking and drinking.
That wasn't until I noticed him, the beautiful man from earlier sitting at the bar drinking with his friends but distant in the conversation.
To make matters worse, he was already looking in my direction as his eyes were piercing into mine over the rim of the glass he held up to his mouth.
I could feel my cheeks heating again with embarrassment so I turned my head to look down at the counter until the bartender came back with my order.
I thanked and tipped the bartender then grabbed the drinks to leave. I noticed he was still blankly staring in my direction making me feel uneasy since he most likely thinks I'm an idiot for running into him.
I gave him a simple half-smile and walked away, well practically ran away...again.
I found Alex back on the dance floor and handed her the drink.
"Eww Vina, you seriously got me water!"
"Oops, sorry that's mine. Here is your drink," I said handing her the correct cup.
She took a sip and smiled at the taste of alcohol and we went right back to dancing.
Minutes have passed and Alex was dancing with some guy a few feet away from me. I smiled while dancing as I realized how happy she looked.
