~ Unfortunate Events ~
The tranquil contentment in the room was broken when I felt a sudden shake in the bed. My eyes snapped open and I was staring at the ceiling. I thought maybe I was imagining the sudden movements until I noticed Wyatt was slightly shaking in the bed next to me.
I quickly shot up and knelt next to him as I placed my hands on his shoulders. I didn't know what was happening and the way his body was shaking scared me. I calmly tried to soothe his body but nothing I was trying worked.
Quickly jumping off the bed, I flung open the bedroom door and ran across the hall towards Cole's bedroom. I opened the door and found him lying on his stomach fast sleep with the sound of quiet snores being heard. I walked over to the bed and tapped Cole on the arm repeatedly earning a groan of annoyance.
"Cole, Wyatt is shaking in the bed and I can't tell what's happening. Maybe it's a seizure but I don't know," I said with a hint of worry found in my voice.
Cole took a second to process what I said to him since he was woken up so abruptly. After a few seconds, Cole lifted himself off the bed and trusted his chin towards the door for me to lead the way out of the room with him following behind.
We both entered the room and Wyatt was still shaking on the bed. Cole walked over towards Wyatt and rested the palm of his hands against his forehead.
"When Reed was shot, he did the same thing. His fever is breaking which is a good sign that his body is starting to recover," he quietly said removing his hand and dropping it to his side.
"Wait Reed is alive?" I asked since all I remember from the day Ivano's men came to take me was everybody in the room was shot but me.
"Yes, when Wyatt and I came back we found Reed still breathing but unconscious. Doctor Griffin took care of him just like he did with Wyatt, but Reed didn't lose nearly as much blood as Wyatt. Reed's body started to shake so I called Doctor Griffin and he told me it was most likely his fever breaking which was good," Cole calmly explained.
"How long did it take for Reed to wake up?"
"The next morning," Cole replied.
I sighed and sat on the edge of the bed with my back facing the window.
"Wyatt is a fighter and he's starting to look better already. I'm sure it won't be much longer before he wakes," Cole said with a yawn.
I looked over at the blinking red lights on the alarm clock resting on the nightstand and read 8:06 A.M.
"It's already eight," I quietly said to myself but I knew Cole heard me. I looked over at the single window in the room and realized the curtains were drawn and were blocking the harsh sunlight out of the room.
"We should go eat breakfast, I bet you're dying for food," Cole said turning his head to face me.
"I don't want to leave him alone," I replied and I turned my head towards the door when I noticed a dark shadow appear in the doorway.
"I can watch him. You two go eat," Maddox said leaning against the doorframe.
I nodded my head and glanced over at Wyatt to notice he wasn't shaking anymore. I got off the bed and followed Cole out of the bedroom and into the kitchen.
I took the time to look around the house since yesterday evening I was so focused on Wyatt that I didn't take the time to check out the inside.
Faintly, I could hear the sound of cereal being poured in a bowl as we approached the kitchen and I wondered who else was awake.
