~ Never Leaving ~
Davina's POV
"We have to bring him to the hospital," I cried as I held Wyatt's cold and sweaty body.
"Not an option," Maddox stiffly said behind me and I turned my head slightly to glare at him.
"Why not? He's been shot and he needs medical help," I replied while still holding onto to his intense gaze.
"Davina, we're going to get him help but not from a hospital," Cole said quickly pulling his phone out from his front pocket before dialing a number and holding the phone to his ear.
"Doctor Griffin," Cole said into the phone once the person on the other end answered.
"Wyatt's been shot and we need you to meet us at the safe house," Cole continued and then hung up the phone seconds later.
"Doctor Griffin is meeting us at the safe house to tend to Wyatt. The rest of the guys are going to return to the hotel to grab our things and pick up Reed. Everything is going to be okay, we just all need to take some deep breaths here," Cole said looking between Maddox and I.
I turned my head away from them and looked back down at Wyatt. Why did this have to happen to him? If I knew that Wyatt would end up being hurt in the process of trying to save me, I would rather have been left in that disgusting basement chained to the wall.
The car ride to the safe house was long and bumpy as the SUV quickly sped down the dirt road. I was too focused on applying pressure to Wyatt's open wound with a shirt Cole gave me while I watched the color drain from Wyatt's face.
I leaned down and pressed a kiss to his forehead as I struggled to hold back the tears threatening to spill down my face. Even though Wyatt was lying unconscious on my lap, I knew I had to hold myself together for him.
The vehicle came to a swift halt and I looked up to notice we were parked in front of a large house surrounded by tall trees. It was later in the day and the sun began to set leaving a dusk atmosphere lingering around the house.
Maddox and Cole climbed out of the car and grabbed Wyatt from my lap to carry him into the house. I looked down at my lap and my jeans were soaked in Wyatt's dark blood. I pulled myself out of the car and quickly followed behind them. They carried his body into a bedroom to the far right and laid him down on the bed.
Cole and Maddox discarded the blood-stained clothes leaving Wyatt's upper body exposed. His abdomen was smeared and caked with blood. I knelt on the bed next to Wyatt desperately wishing I could do something to help him but Maddox said Dr. Griffin would be here soon to help Wyatt.
"Davina, gently lift and roll his body towards you," Cole instructed as he knelt on the other side of Wyatt.
I wrapped my hands around Wyatt's arm and his waist trying to roll him over. His body was dead weight and he was too heavy for me to turn him over on my own. Maddox saw me struggling and made his way over to me grabbing Wyatt by the side and helping me turn him over. I quickly glanced over to Maddox and then turned my attention back to Cole.
"He was shot in the back and the bullet exited through the front, that's why he's bleeding so much," Cole said shaking his head as he gently placed him on his back.
After a few quiet minutes, there was a knock on the front door, and Maddox left to answer it. An older looking gentleman entered the room carrying a bag in each hand. He must have been the doctor Cole called on the way over here.
"Hello," he smiled at me while placing the bags down at the end of the bed before walking over to examine Wyatt.
"He was shot in the back and the bullet exited in the front," Cole said moving out of the way to allow Doctor Griffin room. He nodded his head and held his fingers against Wyatt's wrist.
