Chapter One

I threw my bags on the ground and jumped onto the couch."You could've at least put your stuff upstairs!"said Wendy.I looked up to see her long dark blue hair dangling over me.Her hands were on her hips,she was still in her pajamas. She was pale,her cheeks and nose were red."Still sick huh?"i asked,Wendy nodded.I sat up,she crossed her arms.My eyes trailed down her body,she was wearing her blue silk dress.No surprise there."Well i still personally find it how you,a mage who can heal almost anything,is sick,"i said.Wendy rolled her eyes and walked into our kitchen,she boiled the kettle.

"You suck."

I laughed and walked over,giving her a hug."Oh you missed me,i was gone a week.Did Carla come over to see you?"i asked,Wendy nodded.I opened the cupboard and grabbed out two coffee cups,Wendy made our coffee while i grabbed out some grapes to eat."Have you gone to the guild yet?"i asked,Wendy shook her head."I didn't want to risk getting Rosemary sick,She only just got over that bad cold. Jellal is still fretting over her,"explained Wendy.I nodded,then i was given a warm coffee."Yeah,i stopped by the guild to give Mira the paperwork.I would've been back earlier but i was talking to dad,"I explained.Wendy nodded,then i remembered i had something for her.

"I forgot i got some of those herbs you told me about,i hope they're the right ones.I asked this healer when she was patching me up if she knew about them,she got them for me and well,here you go."

Wendy smiled,"let me guess she was super hot and you two 'hooked up',"said Wendy.I frowned as i passed her the herbs.I rolled my eyes ,she wasn't wrong.We did hook up,but i did it because she looked similar to a girl i already had eyes on."You know i like someone in the guild,"i teased.Wendy nodded,then she hopped up on the kitchen counter.She took a sip of her coffee down."Well when will you make a move,cause i'm sure she likes you back!"said Wendy.I shrugged,she thought she knew who it was.She thought it was a new girl,some girl with short brown hair and green eyes.An earth mage.

Little did she know the girl i really had eyes on was her.Her long blue hair,her bright blue eyes and her subtle soft skin.She was funny and kind,incredibly smart and was powerful.She was competitive too,quiet and loving.I knew she'd had previous boyfriends,she told me about all of them.She told me when they broke her heart.She also told me when they were mysteriously beat up.I took a sip of my coffee."I don't know when ill say something,"i said.I quickly shook my head and changed the subject.

"I forgot to tell you actually,we have a requested mission.Some island has this dark guild and they want us.Originally they wanted Natsu because this dark guild is after dragon slayers,then Mira told them Natsu wasn't working and she told them about us.They want us to go next week so i can stop by the pharmacy and get you some medication."

Wendy nodded,"yeah maybe.What kinda dark guild even exists anymore?Zeref died,there hasn't been action of a dark guild in years.Not since the war,"said Wendy.I nodded,looking at the scar on her arm.We were just sixteen at the time,too young to be there.Yet we fought with all we had."I know,i guess that's why it was so urgent,"i replied.Wendy nodded,staring off into the distance.I knew what she was thinking about.The seven years she hadn't aged,the wars she fought,the trauma she faced.I stood up and walked over to her.

"Im sure this guild is tiny,they're probably just some weird sex cult who thinks Zeref is their lover."

Wendy laughed,then she nodded."You're right,im sure its nothing,"replied Wendy.I smiled,then i brushed my shirt off."Well you should go lay down after this,ill make this weird soup stuff so you can be better by this quest. Don't wanna burst into some weird cult and you throw up or something,"i joked.Wendy rolled her eyes but then quietly thanked me.I nodded and then drank the rest of my coffee.I watched as she climbed the stairs,her small figure disappearing.I sighed and leaned against the bench.Was this guild really thinking about resurrecting Zeref?Or was it just a group of Zeref followers who believed he was still alive?I sighed,whatever it was it would bring back some traumatic memories.I ran a hand through my hair,looking where Wendy had just been.Then i began to make this soup.

I walked up the stairs,a bowl in my hand.I opened the door slightly to Wendys room,her blinds were closed and her hands were resting in front of her sleeping face.Her nightgown had slipped down her shoulders and her hair was sprawled out around her.I put the bowl down on her bedside table.I gently nudged her,"wake up sleepy.I made ya the soup,"i said.Wendy opened her eyes and yawned,she sat up and stretched.She looked at me,smiled and then at the bowl of soup."Thank you,i struggled without you,"said Wendy.She grabbed the bowl and gently began eating it.

"How so?"

"It was hard to get up,get water and make food.Shower or run a bath,things you usually do for me when im sick,"said Wendy.I nodded,then i stood up and opened the bathroom door across from us.I ran the bath and began to fill it up.I walked back into her room,which was slightly dark because the sun was setting,only a few beams of light filled her room."Let me brush your hair,"i offered.Wendy nodded and got up,she walked over to her desk on unsteady legs.I stood behind her as she sat down on her chair.I grabbed her brush and began gently brushing her hair.She sighed in relief,in the distance i heard thunder rumbling.Wendy closed her eyes,moaning slightly."You turned on from me brushing your hair or something?"I asked jokingly,Wendy laughed too.

"No,it just feels nice.Grandeeney could never really brush my hair."

I nodded,the knots in her hair came out quickly.I grabbed a hairband and gently began brushing it into a bun.I twisted it around the top of her head and did it up."Now go get in the bath,its still running.Ill bring your book in and you drink your weird herbal witch soup,"i instructed. Wendy laughed,"how'd you know i was gonna read?"asked Wendy as she began walking to the bathroom.I rolled my eyes,"I know you wanna read because ive been living with you for two years,you read when your in the bath regardless if your sick.Which one do you want?The left or right?"i asked,referring to the two laying side by side on her desk.

"Left please!"

I picked it up and followed Wendy into the bathroom,placing it on the counter top."Call me if you need anything,I'll be in my room.Leave the door slightly open so i can at least hear you,"i said.Wendy rolled her eyes,knowing i was referring to when we first moved in and she forgot a towel.She ran out of the bathroom naked to grab one,had she opened the door of the bathroom and yelled i would've heard and she wouldn't have been embarrassed.She laughed and closed it slightly,then i walked back to my room.From my bed i could see slightly into the bathroom,I couldn't see Wendys body,just her dark blue bun sticking out.I sighed and relaxed,unsure of what to do.

I sat there for a while,watching the sun go down.Then i heard Wendy,"I forgot a towel!"yelled Wendy.I sighed and then laughed,I walked over to the closet with all the towels and bed sheets. I grabbed one and opened the door,she was still in the bath.Bubbles were around her chest and neck,her knees were pressed tightly to her torso.I laughed,"see this time i heard you,"i joked.Wendy rolled her eyes and i passed it to her.I turned around as she got out,just because she was sick i wasn't ready to let her fall and get injured.Once the towel was around her body i grabbed her book and bowl."I'll put this in your room,"i said.Wendy nodded,i placed the book in her room.I turned around and saw her turn her bedroom light on.I noticed the pale grey swirl of wind on her collarbone.I knew she was waiting to find her mate.If she waited to long,she would lose her ability to find one and mate with them for life.I shook my head,walked out and left her alone for the rest of the night.
