Chapter Two

I held the two drinks in my arms before walking over to Romeo,who was sitting at a table.I passed him the smoothie,"you seem to feel better!"said Macao.I smiled at him,"yes.I feel much better.Hopefully strong enough for this mission,"i replied.Macao gave my shoulder a pat as i sat down next to him."I have never met a woman who is as strong as you!You'll be just fine kiddo,"said Macao.I smiled at his reassurance.Then reminded him of Lucy and Natsus first adventure together,which was rescuing Macao.

"Gee,Romeo was young then.Maybe four?Five?"

Romeo rolled his eyes,"crying over the thought of me gone!"cheered Macao.I giggled,looking at Romeos reddened cheeks."Yeah now im crying that you came back,"replied Romeo.Macao chucked,putting his arm around me and leaning down to my ear."Now i don't know how you  put up with him!"teased Macao,i giggled."I don't think any other woman will ever have the patience for him.Unlike you my dear,"said Macao.I smiled and looked up at him.He looked between Macao and I before looking down and finishing off his drink."Well we better start walking home before its too late Wendy,"said Romeo.I nodded,then Macao gave me a hug.

"I wont see you two till ya get back!Stay safe missie!You know if you get hurt i gotta deal with him and ya know me,im too old for it!"

I giggled and hugged him back,Romeo chuckled too."See ya dad,I might try call you when we get to the island,"said Romeo.Macao nodded and waved us off as we walked away.We walked mainly in peace,"hey Romeo,do you think ill ever find my mate?"i asked.Romeo looked at me,i followed his eyes as they traced the outline of my body."Of course i do,don't worry about it.There's plenty of people in the guild who would be perfect for you!"replied Romeo.I smiled,"yeah but be honest.Has anyone ever said they like me?"i asked.

"Yeah,one guy.I think he's good for you.I don't know if you'd have the same feelings for him though."

"Why's that?"

I looked at Romeo,"well...I'm not sure.But i know for sure you will find your mate soon.Hell you've probably already met them,"said Romeo.I nodded,we arrived home just as the sun began to set.I watched as Romeo opened the doors to our house."Hmm,wanna just make some like nachos?"asked Romeo as he opened the fridge."Ooh,sounds tempting.I was thinking more like some pasta?"i asked.Romeo shrugged and grabbed the bowl of pasta out."Ill reheat it,you get some drinks,"said Romeo.I nodded in agreement and grabbed out two apple ciders.I opened them both and put them one the table while Romeo brought the two bowls over.

"So about earlier,you really think i've already met him?"

"Well yeah,i mean look.I've known you for years Wendy,i've lived with you for two years and i know almost everything about you.I know there is a guy out there,waiting for you who is perfect for you.Now stop stressing and eat!"

I rolled my eyes,was he right though?Was there a guy really out there waiting for me?Was he someone i knew already?Someone i was close too?I looked at Romeo,who was looking outside the window at some storm in the distance.His signature maroon robe was tightly pressed against his body.I smiled,thinking that a few years ago he was determined to build up his muscle instead of being so scrawny. Here he was before me,well built with muscle and extremely fit.I smiled,watching his purple hair fall into his eyes.

"You need a haircut."

Romeo rolled his eyes and pushed it up,running a hand through it."I do not and says you!"said Romeo,i giggled.We settled down and for the rest of our dinner we sat in silence together,admiring the storm that was kilometres away.After dinner,i took our dishes and washed them.That was while Romeo grabbed some bags for us."Im telling ya Wendy,take a jumper.I know how you get when its cold,"said Romeo.I pushed the jumper into my bag.Then i went into his room."Can i borrow one of yours then?"i asked,leaning against his door.Romeo threw one at me.
