Chapter Eighteen

"Okay!Come on Kasai!"

I heard the patter of small feet run behind me,"have you got shoes on?"i asked as i looked through a bag."I can't tie them!"yelled Kasai,i shook my head and turned around.I knelled next to him,i got the laces between my fingers,tying them."Kasai,use your words remember?"i asked,Kasai looked at me."Okay,sorry mummy!"apologised Kasai,i smiled and ruffled his hair."Now we're ready?"i asked,Kasai nodded.I gave him a smile and we began walking.It had been three years since i had fallen in love with my mate,Romeo Conbolt.It had also been three years since he was alive.

A dark guild had murdered him,when he went to a raid.After he died i was left pregnant and alone and there was times where i wasn't sure i would make it.After the birth of my son,it changed.It was hard,i was tired and sore and i needed support.Then,my guild stepped up and became his father for me.They took turns in holding him,taking care of him and even baby sitting him while i went on missions.

The threat of the dark guild had only grown and without my mate it was terrifying to face alone. Especially because they were still after me.I had been attacked four times by them,which wasn't much but still terrifying."Hey mum pa said we could have milkshakes!"said Kasai,i rolled my eyes.Of course Macao gave in and said they could have milkshakes.Macao treated Kasai like he was royalty,then again my son looked exactly like Romeo."Well you have to ask Mira nicely when we get to the guild,"i said.Kasai nodded and skipped along next to me.I smiled,watching him run after birds and chasing butterflies.

I sighed,smiling as i watched him.If he wasn't in my life,i would've died.Something Natsu had told me,how when a dragons mate dies the dragon slowly goes into a depressed sleep,to which they never wake up from.My son was my everything,i loved him more then i could express.I saw the guild come into sight."Can i go?Can i run?'asked Kasai.I smiled and nodded,i could see his grin and i could hear his laughter as he ran towards the guild.He waited at the entrance for me.I opened the doors and he ran inside to Macao.I followed him,"pa!"yelled Kasai.Macao turned around in time to see the running three year old crash into his legs.I giggled and waved.

"You promised a milkshake huh?"

Macao scratched his neck,"you killing me.He's my grandson!Let me spoil him!"joked Macao.I laughed and gave him a hug.Then Macao let Kasai go get the milkshakes he had been dying for."That kid has some energy!"joked Macao,i nodded.Then Macao nodded his head up to Erza's office."She has news for you,"said Macao.I sighed,"watch him for me?"i asked.Macao nodded and i thanked him,then i walked up to Erza's office.She was sitting with Jellal,they were talking.I sat down next to Jellal.

"Hey,Macao sent me up."

Erza nodded,"we have some more information.We were sent some rather graphic photos,and you need to see them.Look closely,"said Erza.I frowned and she passed me the photos,i picked up the first one.It was a hallway,with cells on the side.Hundreds were there,i frowned."They look like the missing people we've been seeing,"i said.Erza nodded,then passed me another one.It was a similar photo,except one of a dead body that had been beaten to death.Then one of people chained to a wall,there were dozens chained to the wall."Wait..."i whispered,i put the photo on Jellals lap.

"That's a member of Fairy Tail!"

I pointed towards someone,their face turned away from the camera.Their hair was black and the guild mark was purple."Purple?Who has a purple guild mark?"asked Jellal,Erza shrugged."A few people but none of them are missing,"said Erza.I leaned back,looking at other photos.Maybe if i could see their guild mark again i'd recognise them."Has anyone from the guild gone missing?"i asked,I looked up at Erza.She shook her head,i sighed and looked back at the clothing.They were shirtless,wearing white long pants.

"It's a male,clearly they're shirtless."

"They have a scar on their stomach,"said Jellal.I sighed,leaning back."Purple guild mark,black hair,male and a scar on their stomach.That fits no ones description,"i said.It was a dead end,i sighed and leaned back in the chair."Is that all?"i asked,Jellal shook his head.I looked over at him,maybe this information wouldn't be as big of a letdown as the photos."We located their base actually,on an abandoned island.We can't attack yet but its good,"said Jellal.I ran a hand though my hair.

"When are we going to attack Jellal?We're ready for it,all the guilds are ready.I'm ready to fight too."

Jellal sighed,"every time we attack people die,"reminded Jellal.I took a deep breath,flashbacks of Romeo hit me like a train.I shook my head,"I know that.I will always know that.How long do we have to live in fear?"i asked.Jellal looked at me,he sighed and shrugged his shoulders.He didn't have the answer either.Then Erza leaned forward,i turned my attention to her."We have an idea,"said Erza.Jellal groaned,but i kept my focus on Erza.I nodded,allowing her to continue.

"We want to train the children,in case we get attacked.I'm talking to other guilds about it but we're going to train for a few months,then we'll attack as we did with Zeref.It'll take us a few months,but if we prepare we'll beat them."

"Erza thats too long,"said Jellal."Three years is a lot longer then three months,"i commented.Jellal looked at me,i stared back.I loved Jellal,he was family to me but he didn't understand why i tried so hard to help in this."Why are you still doing this Wendy?Just let me handle it.Focus on Kasai,"said Jellal.I stood up,pushing my chair back as he said it.I whipped around,a confused expression on my face.

"I'm still helping you because it's been three years.I don't want to help you okay?I don't wanna keep leaving my son either but i have too.I have to leave my son because his father isn't here anymore and i'm trying to end what we started.I feel the guilt of Romeos death every single day.That's why i'm doing this Jellal,because if i don't fight back against something i started then i am letting Romeo down and i'm failing my son."

I looked back at him,"don't question how i parent my son.I am trying hard for him to live a happy life.Maybe you should pay more attention to Reiki then Kasai,"i said.I knew i was being rude but questioning a mothers parenting skills was always an insult.I slammed the door as i walked away,then sat down with Natsu."Can you believe Jellal?"i asked,still fuming with anger.Natsu gave me a surprised expression,then i explained what had just happened in Erza's office.Natsu sighed and ran a hand through his hair."He shouldn't have said it,i admit.What are you doing about it?"asked Natsu.I stood up.

"I'm going home."
