Chapter Four

I made the first move,i leaped into the air before using all my force to slam my fist into the ground.A new move Natsu had taught me,using the power from my body running and jumping i pushed it all into my hand,causing the ground to shift and for them to be sent into the air.They were unbalanced.Romeo jumped in front of me,using a fire spell to push them back further,also draining them of their magic.Romeo truly had learnt some handy tricks over the years.Then they began fighting back,almost as a group.They moved in complete unison,a magic circle appeared under all of them,as one big circle.I stood my ground and covered my eyes,waiting for the harsh impact that came moments later.

They chanted something,but it was almost in another language."Sky Dragons Roar!"i chanted,the circle above me was large and definitely scary.The men tried standing their ground like Romeo and I had a few seconds ago.Most fell down,then while they were down and unable to cast a spell Romeo used a fire binding spell.The spell tripped them over as they were tied together by the flames,but they managed to escape.I watched their movements,they used the same spells together at once.Surely if they were in a guild (even a dark one) they would've been taught its harder to beat if they work using different spells from different people?Were they taught its better to fight as a group?I sighed,then sucked in a deep breath."Sky Dragon shattering light!Sky Drill!"i chanted,the men yelled and grunted as they were thrown around.

Romeo and i kept fighting,hitting them before they hit us.They sent a spell towards us,but using some trick that Jellal had taught him,Romeo caught the spell and sent it back to them.I knew they were getting unsteady.They weren't keeping up and falling out of order.Suddenly,one of the main fighters shouted something,in some language that i didn't understand.They all dispersed.I looked at Romeo,he was panting.Sweat was dripping down his face,next to his eyebrows.

"That was weird."

"Please Perseus,if there's any help needed with repairs we are glad to help."

Perseus shook his head,waving his hands in front of him.It was the next morning after the attack,the damage wasn't too bad but considering Romeo and I had contributed we felt is was necessary to offer our help."Please we insist,if anything looking closer at the damage can give us an idea on what magic they're teaching and the levels they teach,"said Romeo.Perseus thought for a moment,then he looked at Romeo."Well,you may help.Unfortunately,this isn't to offend you miss Wendy...but...well we don't let out women do that physical labour,they either nurse the sick,feed us or take care of the children.Its part of our culture,"explained Perseus.I giggled,shaking my head.

"I'm not offended,i find it wonderful.The bond between women here would be strong.I'm a healer as well,if you show me to your sick or wounded i can heal them."

I looked up at Romeo,he smiled and gave me a wink.I hid my giggle,then Perseus nodded."Of course,follow me.Romeo,go towards the men over there,they'll give you something to do,"said Perseus.Romeo smiled and thanked him,then he said goodbye to me.Which was unusual,he never really said goodbye to me unless he was leaving for a time in which he'd miss me.I shrugged it off and followed Perseus,he lead me to a large hut which was clearly intended for the sick."Ladies,this is Wendy as you know.She's a healer,she'd love to help you.Make her feel welcome,"said Perseus.I thanked him and he left us.

"Thank you for your help,my name is Jade.I'm the head healer here."

I smiled,"I'm Wendy as you know.Show me to your sick please,I can help with anything,"i offered.Jade's smile faded away,she shook her head and i looked around at the other Healers."I'm sorry,did i offend you?"i asked.Jade shook her head,she reached over and rested her hand on my shoulder.I was confused,what made them all so grim?"Our sickest is Perseus' son,he's four. We've tried everything,but hes cold has gotten worse and worse.We don't have a name for it,"said Jade."Show me,"i said.Jade nodded and lead me behind a set of curtains. On the bed below me he laid there,he was covered in blankets.He was shaking from being so cold.I checked his temperature,his head was burning.

"Grab me a chair,a bowl of cold water and a towel."

One of the healers who had followed me left in a hurry,i leaned down listened to his breathing.It was raspy,he was struggling to breathe.I'd heard it before.I'd heard that breathing when Romeo developed a cold that developed into pneumonia."He has pneumonia,his lungs are filling up with liquid.It's severe if left untreated,"i said.I looked up at Jade,"do you practice magic to heal?"i asked.She shook her head,i sighed.If i didn't use magic on the child,he'd only just die.On the other hand would she support the use?

"I can heal him with my magic,if you'd allow me i can relieve the pressure and allow him to breathe easier.He'll cough a lot and be very tired,but he'll start to cough out the fluid.I can only do it with your consent."

Jade nodded and i thanked her,the nurse who had left us came running back with the things id asked for.I gave her a warm smile,then i looked back at the child.I was going to need to stay with him."Give us some privacy,when i know hes more stable ill come out and help.For now,he needs my attention,"i offered.Jade agreed and ushered the healers out.She closed the curtains behind her and then i turned to him.I made sure to dampen the towel,then i rubbed it on his chest slowly.Something Grandeeney did for me when i was sick.I began to get to work.

I heard the curtains open hours later,i turned around to see who had entered.I smiled when i saw his tall figure enter the dimly lit room."Hey,the healers told me you were with him all day.He's sick huh?"asked Romeo,i nodded.He passed me some soup and bread without a second thought."I knew you wouldn't leave him for dinner so i brought it to you. I've eaten,"said Romeo.I thanked him then dipped some of the bread into the soup.I moaned,it tasted delicious."I have to stay overnight with him,hes coughing up mucus and the healers don't know much about pneumonia."

"He looks pretty crook.Has he woken up?"

I nodded,"yes.Four times,i got him to stand up and go to the toilet which he hasn't been well enough to do in weeks apparently.He also ate something,"i said.I dropped my bread as he started to cough again,i rubbed his chest in a soothing way with the cold towel."Does that help?"asked Romeo,i nodded.I waited for the child to stop coughing before i explained to Romeo how it helped.Once he stopped coughing and went back into his sleep,i looked at Romeo.

"It soothes the burning sensation,which often or not causes people to stop coughing.It helps them avoid the pain if they don't cough.So when i soothe the pain he keeps coughing until he calms down,if he doeskin finish a coughing fit he keeps bacteria and germs and phlegm in for longer. Grandeeney taught me."

Romeo nodded,then passed me the bread that i had dropped into my lap."You needa eat too,"said Romeo.He held up the bread and gave me a toothy grin,i looked down then back up.I felt my chest begin to get tighter and Romeo leaned forward.I closed my eyes,the flickering light of the candle disappeared.Romeo's hands travelled up my neck,his lips connected with mine.I put my hand on his,feeling his knuckles.Then i pulled back,i looked at him.Romeo gazed back at me,then his eyes widened."Oh shit,i'm sorry i shouldn't have-"I interrupted Romeo by turning my attention to Perseus' son,he was coughing again.I rubbed his chest gently.Then,while i rubbed his chest i turned to Romeo.

"Its late,thank you for dinner though.I'll see you tomorrow."

Romeo went to say something,but then nodded.He stood up and dusted off his shirt.He got to the curtain and waved,"goodnight.I hope he gets better,still try to sleep though,"said Romeo.I nodded and gave him a weak smile.I muttered a goodnight as he left.I sighed,placing my fingers to my lips.Did that really just happen?I sighed,what were we thinking?I looked back at the sick child in front of me,he needed my focus more then a kiss.
