Chapter Thirty Six

"Deal."

I looked at my partner,her height barely reaching five foot six surrounded by hundreds of men who could beat her without magic?Let alone standing against a man who almost killed me multiple times?I sucked in a deep breath.This was going to be a rough fight but we had too.

If we didn't win this we would never see our son again and likely lose our lives before him.The thought of Kasai hiding away in a corner of something to avoid being taken from Hisao was a haunting thought.

"You're pathetic,going after a toddler who has no magic."

"Please,that toddler is a child of both elements air and fire.He's already got Wendy's magic i know he'll be powerful one day,"said Hisao.I glanced at Wendy,he had shown us fire magic and that was it.Did he really have Wendy's magic?

"Any child of a dragon slayer will be powerful they're mixed between two types of magic.What makes mine so special?"

"You ruined my plans from the beginning,"spat Hisao.He claimed to be the son of Acnologia,he hurt innocent people and he was saying we ruined his plans?The crowd around us moved back to make a larger circle for this fight.

"Stop talking,let's fight."

I nodded at Wendy,this was an ordinary fight.We had fought before.All i had to believe was that this was a fight with no stakes at mind,we would get out of this fine and we would see our son when we returned.

Wendy made the first move,her hair growing pink and long.Wings sprouted from her back,she boosted herself first and landed a hit.Wendy moved at the speed of sound,she kicked Hisao in the stomach.Hisao was pushed back a few metres,holding his stomach.

I ran behind Wendy,she moved back and i jumped over her.I used dark purple flames to wrap around his torso,rendering his arms useless."Sky Dragons,crushing fang!"chanted Wendy.I moved out of her way as she made her move.

Wendy and I fighting together was like a dance of dragons according to her.We both moved in sync,like we knew each other's thoughts moments before they thought of it them self.My flames dispersed as Wendy used her spell.

Hisao managed to break free from the chains and slashed back at Wendy,a cut formed on her cheek.She winced but continued to fight.The blood dripped down her face.Hisao made a slash at me,his magic was tough.

I had no category to put Hisao on in terms of his magic,how could you put a label on something like that?His magic was like invisible knives slashing at you,making deep and painful cuts that burned all layers of your body when they were made.

His magic was torture and that's the only words i knew of to describe it.I lashed forward and made a move on him again,pushing him back.Hisao let out a grunt from the force behind my punch.The flames brunt through his shirt exposing his bare skin.

Wendy jumped over me and got close to him,slashing down his torso using a razor sharp claw spell.Of course i'd never seen it but his torso opened up with some painful wounds that would be hard to fight with.Hisao pushed Wendy back,sending her rolling across the cave.

"Wendy!"

I wanted to make sure she was okay but i knew i was opening myself up to attack.I had learnt Hisaos moves over the time i had fought him,he smirked."Just like old times?"asked Hisao.My throat closed up as i thought of the memories.

Images flashed through my mind as i remembered being chained with metal and him torturing me days on end.He mentally drained me,making me think my own girlfriend was dead.He made me believe that i was forever going to be alone even if i managed to beat Hisao.

"You almost killed me so many times."

"I spared you,"said Hisao.I kept my weight in my back leg as i darted forward and swept my foot under him.He fell to the ground with a loud thud,i jumped on top of him and punched him in the face.I repeated that.

Over and over again i continued to punch him,water threatening to break over my eyes as i remembered the torture i had to endure for this stupid quest.All the money in the world and the queen owed it to me after the crap i had to go through.

"I killed dozens of your men!Ill kill you too!"

Eventually he managed to get me off his torso,what he didn't expect was Wendy right behind me ready to punch him.Wendy's force behind her punch sent him flying into the wall.At this stage we seemed to be winning the fight,getting in more hits than he could throw at us.

"I've been going light on you...i'll torture you one last time before i die..."

I didn't understand what he meant,he grabbed Wendy by the throat.She grasped at his hands,i went to run forward only to realise my lower half of my body was stuck in some spell.Wendy tried to pull off him but she seemed stuck too.

"Stop!Don't hurt her!Kill me before you touch her!"

Hisao laughed as he pushed her too the ground,he smirked as she laid there catching her breath.No...i knew what would happen next.I tried to move again,use my magic anything to help her and put her out of the torture she was going to endure.

My breathing was heavy and white noise screamed in the back of my head,Wendy's back arched and she let out an awful scream.My heart shattered,she clawed at the ground and continued to scream in pain.

"Stop!Stop!"

My screams sounded pathetic to anyone who heard me."Please don't hurt her!"i yelled,i reached out a hand.I knew she was so close but i couldn't even touch her.I couldn't relieve her from the pain she was in.Hisao laughed and raised his hand a little higher.

A large cut slowly made it way down Wendy's wrist,i saw white spill before blood.I knew that wasn't good."Stop!You're going to kill her!"i yelled,i tried to move my legs.Hisao wasn't having it.More cuts appeared over her body.Her shoulder and stomach...her legs.

I lit my hands on fire,finally managing to summon the magic.I leaned forward and kicked him back.I heard Wendy stop screaming,Hisao flew back a few dozen metres,i looked back at Wendy.She tried sitting up,holding a hand over her stomach but it was almost no use.She was in no condition to fight.

"Fine...you want me to torture you...I'll do that instead."
