Chapter Forty-Two

*Skylynn POV*

"C-cole i-is uh... Cole is Ryan's little brother...." I breathe out

We all stand there silently, the guys look shocked me and Cole stand there rocking back and forth on our feet waiting for someone to speak but its still quiet. I don't know why no-ones speaking is that bad or is it that they're shocked?

"Come again?" Liam speaks confused

"Cole is Ryan's little brother." I repeat

"So you're telling me this little shit is related to that pathetic excuse of a human?!" Harry says through gritted teeth

"He isn't like Ryan, he moved in with his mum. Cole is nothing like his father or his brother." I tell them

Wow I just stood up for Cole.

"Doesn't mean he won't change!" he seeths

"Harry, I've known Cole longer than Ryan. I can promise you he isn't like him." I stare at them before Harry can speak Cole decides he wants to talk

"Look, I'm gonna explain everything from the beginning" he breathes out they nod for him to go on

"Me and Skylynn were best friends from the age of fourteen til' we turned sixteen." he pauses looks over to me smiling a small smile then he continues "We had got paired to be partners in Chemistry and instantly became friends, we were the nerds of the school."  he chuckles

"Takes a nerd to know a nerd." I say chuckling at the memory

"We were inseparable at the time, she met Ryan when we were fifteen and she had a liking towards him, I was jealous because he always got the girls and everyone girl-friend I got liked him more. When they both started talking I knew I was gonna lose her. When I met Sky I admit I fell for her. She was such an amazing girl but no-one could see that only I did." he pauses catching his breath "Skylynn was the first girl I met at the school and she was so beautiful. But that one day when I told her I was in love with her ruined everything." he stops looking down

"I told her I loved her, but like every other girl went for my brother. She was the first girl I've loved til' I met Madison. And that day when she told me she didn't feel the same, I turned into someone I really wish I didn't. I started to bully her like everyone else, since she had embarrassed me I wanted nothing more to do the same. But I stopped after her mum died I just couldn't do it anymore. I had went up to her to apologizes but instead got a punch in the face before I could speak." he chuckles but I can see tears in his eyes

"I hated  myself for what I did but hated myself more when I found out what my dad and brother did. Skylynn I know you will forgive me but I'm so sorry." he says wiping his eyes

Everyone stands there not saying anything. Cole just told everyone he loved me in front of his girlfriend and my boyfriend... I can't believe I did what I did years ago.

"Oh." they say in unison

"Wait, so you're saying you fell in love with Skylynn?" Harry asks bewildered

"Yes. I just wish she loved me back." Cole breathes out

"So you don't regret loving her?" Madison asks shocked

"No, actually I don't. And I don't think I ever will. I had loved her for those four years of high school and still think I do." he says lowly

Wait, did he just say he might still love me? He can't he's with Madison and I'm with Harry.

"You're telling me you're still in love with my best friend?" Madison asks with tears welling up in her eyes

"Yes. But I know I can't have her, just like the past I will never have Skylynn. I have you now which is all that matters and plus she has Harry someone she truly loves I wouldn't try and take her away from that." he states
