" If it ain't that piece of paper, some other choice they're gonna try and make for you " Wooderson continued saying and I turned to look at him once again.
"You gotta do what Randall 'Pink' Floyd wants to do, man. Let me tell ya this. The older you do get, the more rules they're gonna try to get you to follow. You just gotta keep livin', man. L-l-V-l-N " we all started laughing and I looked over at pink sending him a smile.
" Man , if you're gonna sign that paper you should throw a little grass in the middle " Slater said
"Roll it up, sign the joint, man. That's gonna tell 'em somethin'" I looked over at him shaking my head .
" That's what I'll do. Yeah. Assholes " Pink said
" So what they're all a bunch of assholes, but you gotta think about it. We've had a lot of good times here, Pink " Don said trying to make him see it in a different perspective
" Yeah, come on, Pink. I can't believe this. You act like you're so oppressed. Man, you guys are kings of the school;you get away with whatever you want. What are you bitchin' about? " Simone said clearly not understanding where Pink was coming from.
"Well, look, all I'm sayin' is... that if I ever start referring to these as the best years of my life, remind me to kill myself " Pink said and everyone stayed quiet as he got up.
"What do you think Luna ? " Slater said looking at me
" I mean , yes you should decide what you want in life not them but also don't forget they want the best for you as well " I said looking at Pink
" Just if you're not going to play okay that's you're choice and we all should respect that " I said looking at Don who had his head resting on Shavonne's lap. " Just have fun and do what you want but don't fuck up you're future " I said hoping I don't sound like a total bitch.
" Well all I'm sayin' is... I just wanna look back and say... that I did it the best I could while I was stuck in this place " Don said and I agreed
" Had as much fun as I could when I was stuck in this place, played as hard as I could when I was stuck in this place " I looked over at Pink who was looking around the field taking it all in.
" Dogged as many chicks as I could when I was stuck in this place " he said and we all started laughing , even made Pink turn around
" Yeah, right, Mr. Premature Ejaculation " I said getting back at Don for telling Benny how I felt all this time.
" You got that right ! " Shavonne said making Don turn to her.
"Ooh! Oh, that's great. That's good. That's good" Don said jumping on her as they laughed
" Not cool Luna " Don said clearly pretending I hurt his feelings.
" I was kidding ! but Shavonne agreed so " I said shrugging and he shook his head
" That the cops? " Simone said looking towards the gate not to far from us.
" What the hell " Pink said as the lights flashed towards us and at the moment I realized I should've just gone straight home.
" Hey! All of you! Get over here! Now! " the cops yelled making us stand up
" Hey, man, ditch that pot " Wooderson said to Slater making me feel even more nervous . He looked at me noticing how quiet I got
" You're okay Luna " Wooderson said putting his arm around me trying to get me to calm down.
" Is it illegal to be on the football field? " Simone said to Shavonne equally as scared as me
" I got some more" Wooderson said turning to Slater as he started to stand up.
" Come on, Slater " I said looking at him trying to calm down a bit
" What'd we do? " Don said confused .
" You got any Visine? " Simone said and I turned to her
" Like that's going to help us " I said laughing at how stupid she was .
" I was talking to Shavonne " she said , I stopped walking looking back at them
" You should really find new friends " I said looking at her and Wooderson pulled at my arm to continue walking .
" Whats that supposed to mean ? She said and I didn't bother answering
"If it ain't old Richard Wrath. How ya doin', Dick?" Wood said as we all approached them standing on the other side of the fence.
" Well, well, well. Couple of football players. Wonder what Coach is gonna think of all this. Line up " the cop said as he opened up the gate a bit letting us out the other side . I looked at Wooderson and he patted my back as I made my way to stand by the cop car .
" Wooderson? " the cop said as Pink got through the gate and stood next to me
" Slavey? " ughhh I looked over at Don clearly upset as I was.
" Reliving old glories on the football field? " Slater put his arms up waiting for the police officer to pat him down
" Get through there " the cop said to Slater making him even more mad , and I couldn't help letting out a chuckle but quickly covered my mouth as old 'Slavey' turned to look over at us.
" You're going to get us in even more trouble " Pink said with a smirk
" You told me to let loose tonight " I said nudging him as Simone came to stand next to him glaring at me.
" You shouldn't still be mad 'cause I got all-district and you didn't " I looked over at Wooderson who was still talking squeezing through the gate. It's got to be around 4 or 5 in the morning I could see the sun starting to come up. I wonder what Benny's mom told him after I left and I hope his dad didn't yell at him even more .
" I'm calling you're coach " the officer said to the guys making them groan while the rest of stayed quiet. Wooderson stood next to Slater his arms crossed not worried at all , he didn't care he knew we would be okay.
" What's this? " the other cop stood next to Pink's car by the trunk , the statues that Michelle painted were there . Fuck I thought to myself , tonight was a mess ........
