The next thing kinda just happened.

It wasn't like in the movies by any means. No fireworks, no electricity, no spark. It was just happening. Nothing special. No meaning behind the action whatsoever from either party.

It's not quick, either. They let it linger and all Melanie can hope for is that it doesn't stop anytime soon. It's taking her mind off of Calum, which is all she needs.

It's a cute story, in a way. Melanie's never done this before- Michael doesn't know that, but Melanie wouldn't change a thing about it. Except, perhaps how uncomfortable the dew of the grass was and how loud the entire lot was being.

Both of them can feel their hearts beating to the thump of the bass coming from the music in the house. It's bound to give them a headache, but it adds to the atmosphere.

At that moment (or several), Michael is Melanie's first kiss. And her second. And her third.

And so what it doesn't mean anything? They both know that. But Melanie's hurting, and she doesn't find anything wrong with a quick rebound.
