Mr Park was flustered to say the least, after interrogating him, which was about as easy as understanding a headless chicken who spoke Russian, Maddie had managed to deduce that he'd just had a big order in and he had absolutely no measurements to go off. He invited the people who had ordered it to come in so they could take the measurements themselves, but they'd refused. Mr Park had made clothes for all types of people, if they could pay he wouldn't question their motives, but he'd never had anyone refuse to come in. They wouldn't even let him send someone to them. It had to be completely under the radar. So Maddie couldn't make anything, but even if they had the measurements they wouldn't be able to, the order was for 7 completely unique suit jackets, but no one else could be allowed to use that pattern, and they had to be in very specific materials, they kind that cost the amount of a normal suit jacket per square meter.
So Mr Park set everyone to work designing. They all had to design a series of seven jackets, which would be sent to the client, who could then decide which one they wanted. Felix was tasked with sending emails trying to get their measurements, but you can only send so many emails to an anonymous client.
Maddie pulled her hair back into a low ponytail as she discarded yet another rough sketch she didn't like. The other designers were happily designing simple but smart jackets, each slightly different but Maddie's head was fogged with visions of something grander. The pressure was most definitely on, the other two designers were chatting between themselves, they must have been from the same home town because they spoke in a thick dialect Maddie couldn't understand even if she'd have wanted to.
Maddie could sense someone coming over to her station so she looked up hoping to see Mr Park, but instead she was greeted by Felix who she didn't really want to have to deal with, she had nothing to say to him. Maddie turned back to her drawing trying to ward Felix off coming too much closer but he sat down on the other side of the work bench "why weren't you at school today?" Felix asked, getting straight to the point, his warm Australian accent being more endearing than it should have been.
"I was sick" Maddie replied quickly, she was an expert at lying but for some reason she thought Felix would be able to figure out that she'd just joined a criminal empire earlier that day.
"You don't look sick" he shot back with a shrug.
"I feel better now" she explained.
"I don't want your germs, you shouldn't be here" Felix pressed knowing full well that he was pushing all of Maddie's buttons.
"As I say, I'm better now, it was just a headache" she shrugged.
"A hangover?" Felix assumed.
Maddie just rolled her eyes and sighed "what's it to you anyway?" She muttered "why do you care?"
"I don't care" Felix quickly corrected "I was just curious about the new girl like everyone else" he shrugged.
"No one cares about me" Maddie rolled her eyes, she knew Felix was just trying to rille her up and he thought he could do so by getting to her ego.
"No probably not, but the whole school has been talking about you" Felix explained "rumours spread like wild fire" he added with a cheeky smirk.
Maddie wanted to know what they were saying, she was curious, but she couldn't seem like she cared so she just shrugged her shoulder and said "let them spread, I don't care"
