Chapter 64

"IZZY!" Maddie screamed as bullets began to fly from all directions over her sisters head. Maddie could see her sister crouched in the middle of the ball room protecting her head with her arms, shattered glass from her tray of drinks surrounding her.

All training and logic flew out of Maddie's head in that moment as she lunged towards where her sister crouched defenceless. After a few paces on  her high heels she felt a hand grip her arm tightly yanking her backwards. She tried to yank her arm out of their grip but it was no use, in her hysteria she screamed "get off me" at them but still they did not give up.

Maddie turned to face who ever was keeping her from her sister, her vision was clouded with tears as she saw the purple hair that she'd dyed herself. "Get off" she sobbed digging her nails into his arm where it was holding hers.

"For fucks sake Maddie don't be ridiculous" Felix scolded tugging her to his chest. Maddie realised that she was about to literally run into the line of fire that was erupting from both sides of the room.

Felix held her back as she scanned the room. She noticed that the room had split pretty much into JYP on one side and SM on the other. Which also made maddie realise she was on the wrong side and she couldn't get to her people. She could see through the haze of the tension in the ball room that Chanyeol had been shot. She'd only met him a few times but something about the way she was bound to him through their alliance through SM made her livid. She could see his fiancée Baekhyun crouched over him putting pressure on his wound while Taeil was trying to rush over to help. A sense of guilt fell on maddie as she realised she wasn't there to be able to help.

In that moment she was so overwhelmed with the scene that was playing in front of her. Her sister was still an island in the middle of the sea of bullets that were singing through the air. Multiple waitresses and party goers littered the floor, the only unmoving objects in a sea of chaos. She was on the wrong side, and had no idea if the people who had become her family were safe, if they were alive, and they had no way of knowing she was ok.

"I need to get to NCT" she suddenly said as the realisation of if she could get to Lucas, she would be safe, Johnny and Mark would look after her like they always do, Taeyong would point her in the right direction, the dreamies would cheer her up, her family would have her back.

Felix had foolishly loosened his grip on her arm and she took advantage of his loose hold and yanked her arm out of his touch. "For fuck sake" Felix muttered as she headed towards inevitable death.

"Hyunjin go get her!" Chan yelled at him, while returning fire, not bothering with gang personas, no one would hear him over the roar of the guns anyway.

Hyunjin did what he was told and chased after his girl. He grabbed her wrist and yanked her to his chest. She was hysterical scratching at him and screaming at him to let her go. But he just held her close and waited for her to come to her senses.

"Princess" he said sternly catching her attention, her eyes focused on him as if she was only just recognising who he was "we need to get out of here" he stated firmly, most the other women had ran out of the ball room knowing that they were more of a liability in their heels. She suddenly felt another rush of uselessness as she gave in.

Maddie nodded in understanding and muttered an apology as she let Hyunjin drag her out of the room, she had finally got a grip of herself as she ran along side him pulling out the gun that was still strapped to her thigh. Although at least 10 different people had the pair in their sights no one shot in fear of shooting one of their own, whether it be Maddie or Hyunjin.
