"Hey mads" Alice said as Maddie lay her head on her shoulder as they sipped warm coffees to counteract the chill that was starting to take over the city. Maddie hummed in reply bringing foamy drink to her lips  enjoying the simplicity of being in Alices company, she never failed to put her whirring mind to rest.

"Jaehyun invited me to come to this ball with you guys" she explained an unmissable innocence in her voice, Maddie shot up from where she was rested wondering why on earth Jaehyun would but her best friend in a room full of criminals for no apparent reason.

"Why?!" Maddie asked her voice slightly shaky.

Alice scrunched her eyebrows up in confusion unsure of her friends odd reaction "he wants to take me out that night but he said he had a commitment, and suggested I tag along for a while before we can both head out" she shrugged "but if you'd rather I don't come I don't mind" she quickly added thinking that maddie wanted to spend that evening on her own with the boys Alice had got to know in various groups.

"No!" Maddie quickly corrected not wanting to give her friend the wrong impression "I was just surprised that's all!"  She reassured.

"You sure?" Alice asked not wanting to overstep.

"Of course" Maddie clarified "we should buy our dresses together!" She suggested.

Maddie and Alice were stalking the streets trying to find a shop they could purchase their dresses from, Taeyong had made it clear that maddie needed to look expensive and with her generous allowance it wouldn't be a problem. They wondered around on a power mission before stumbling into a high end department store. After some difficult conversations with the shop assistants they were on the right floor to find what they were looking for.

Rows apron rows of gowns of various colours dominated the floor space, both girls stood frozen in excitement as the sea of possibilities spread out in front of them. Alice gulped and Maddie pulled her long hair into a low pony tail getting ready to crack on.

"Oh my lord Alice!" Maddie groaned as Alice stepped out in yet another unflattering dress "these are all shit" maddie complained, these dresses weren't capable of accommodating both of the girls generous helping around the bust and hips.

"This is a lost cause" Alice whined as she turned around to let maddie unzip the hideous fabric off her. "All the girls here are way smaller than us we're never going to find anything that fits."

"Come on we can find something" maddie sighed trying not to loose hope. Alice just let out a long breath and slipped off the dress adding it to where all the other discarded dresses were collected in their shared changing room. "I can always alter the fit slightly" maddie suggested desperate to find anything that could work.

Another 5 dresses later and Maddie had found exactly what she'd been looking for. It wasn't anything ground breaking, but which what maddie could do to it with a sewing machine it would look killer but she would need to buy some heavy jewellery to supplement its simple appearance. She stood in her tiptoes as she filled in the job of the heels she would wear a puddle of emerald fabric collected at her feet. The dark green silk fabric that composed the dress shone against Maddie's tan skin and the higher slit exaggerated her long smooth legs. It had thin straps which held up the daring neckline and connected to a low cut back.
