The Two Princes - Both

This is set in the past but homosexuality wasn't illegal.

This is full of historical inaccuracies so that's why I didn't select a time period.

I also had to make the character for the king up because the king is straight and...

Ya know.

"Patton! You have to come quick!" Roman took a step into the house and called for his best friend.

"What? Why?" Patton was busy cooking dinner for later and was confused by the urgency in Roman's voice.

"The king is making an announcement and apparently it's about the princes!" Patton dropped the spoon he had been holding and looked at Roman is disbelief.

"Really?! Let's go!" Patton bolted out the door and Roman waited for a second for Patton to remember his coat.

On cue, Patton ran in the door and grabbed his coat and Roman did the same.

They made their way to town square, they looked around at everyone else gathering ahead of them to hear what the king had to say. It was rumored to be about the princes that everyone had been wondering about for years.

There were supposedly two princes.

They were apparently twins at the age of twenty one. They had been hiding away in the castle for many years and everyone was curious to see if they could be as stunning as their parents. It was told that one of them spent his hours studying in the library and the other taught himself to play all different kinds of instruments.

They arrived at town square and immediately noticed the massive crowds of people. It seemed like everyone else was just as eager to hear about the princes.

Roman and Patton decided to take the time to talk since they had nothing else to do but wait for the king to arrive.

"What do you think the princes are like?" Patton stared into space at the thought of being whisked away to live in a castle with the man of his dreams.

"They probably aren't very social, having been locked away in a castle for so long." Payton nodded in agreement but stayed in his fantasy of marrying his perfect man.

"I'd like someone tall... And easily flustered!" Patton giggled slightly and Roman joined in to dream about their imaginary boyfriends.

"Someone I could spoil and do large romantic gestures for!" Roman exclaimed dramatically making Patton laugh.

They spent the next ten minutes talking and fantasizing until the kind walked out onto the balcony and cleared him throat loudly to silence the crowd.

"SILENCE." The crowd went so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.

"As you may have heard from the rumors, I am here to make an announcement about my two sons." The king spoke in a stern and serious manner that nobody dared to disobey. He continued and the crowd listened intently.

"Since the princes have recently turn the age of twenty one, suitors will be selected for them to wed." The entire crowd gasped in surprise and Patton gave Roman a hopeful look but Roman simply muttered a few things about them probably being straight.

"The selection will begin in one hour but before that, one more thing..." He lifted an arm to gesture to his guards who then lifted the curtains behind him.

Out walked the most handsome and stunning men that Patton and Roman had seen in their entire lives. One was tall with tidy midnight black hair, a strong jawline, an emotionless stare, piercing blue eyes and perfect posture while the other had soft, dark brown hair that fell over his eyes, extremely pale skin, a much softer jawline, an anxious look about him and was slouching quite a lot.
