Thank you to janedoe0219 and FandomTrash257 for picking this out of the options in my last update.

The reason that this is late is because I started it again.

It was about three quarters done but I couldn't think of an end and I just didn't fully like it.

This Oneshot is very long and basically a short story. This also turned very differently from what I had planned.

Thanks for over 1.5k reads! That's crazy!

"Come on! You never go to these things!" Roman groaned at his best friend while they walked down the hall to English class.

"I am aware. I don't go to them because I find no enjoyment in watching you and your friends get intoxicated while I wait to go home." Logan let out a breath of annoyance when Roman just groaned even louder at his response.

"No, you're going with me tonight and you're going to have fun." Roman's voice was very serious and slow. Logan glared at Roman and pushed open the classroom door.

They walked separate directions from each other to their assigned seats with a mutual understanding that the topic was not finished being discussed.

Logan placed his bag down under his desk and was greeted by the same cheery voice that greeted him every English class.

Patton Hearth.

"Heya Logan! How are you today?" Logan nodded a little and found himself having to respond due to social convention.

"Adequate, how are you?" Logan sat down in the chair beside Patton and listened to him speak.

"I'm great as always! Except my dog chewed up my second favourite pair of socks." Logan grasped his opportunity to escape the conversation by not responding.

He wasn't a fan of Patton for a few reasons.

Whenever he was around him it was impossible to act coldly, something about him made Logan's stomach feel unwell, he made Logan's face warm up which was definitely (not lol) a sign of annoyance, Logan found himself slightly nervous around him and Logan just doesn't like human interaction if it isn't with Roman.

Patton's face dropped slightly when he realised that Logan had decided to not respond. Logan felt some feeling inside him sink at seeing Patton frown but assumed it was only hunger since lunch was straight after English.

They sat the rest of the class in silence while other people around them whispered and joked with the people sitting beside them.

Right when the teacher said they could pack up their things, Patton grabbed his bag and almost ran out the classroom door. Patton bolted down the hallway and towards the library.

He slowed down his pace and he opened the library door, waving to the Friday librarian on his way over to the table he had lunch at with his best friend every day.

Technically you're not allowed to eat in the library but the librarians let them because they never make a mess, they help out at the library sometimes after school and it's almost impossible to say no to Patton.

Patton threw his stuff under the table and slumped down in one of the chairs waiting for Virgil to arrive. He thought over the brief conversation with Logan in English class and held his head in his hands in defeat.

"Hey Dad, you okay?" Patton lifted his head up to look at Virgil and sighed.

"Yeah." Virgil sat down in the chair beside him and pushed him a small carton of chocolate milk.
