Emile lifted up his shaky hand and knocked on the large oak door softly. It was just loud enough for the wizard inside to hear and sure enough, he did.

Roman opened his door and reminded himself to fix the creak later. He quickly noticed the almost trembling man in front of him. Emile was biting his lip in an obvious attempt to stop himself from crying and had his hands cupped together to hold something.

"Emile? Are you okay? Did something happen?" Roman gazed at Emile's appearance for anything to hint at why he looked so shaken but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Emile extended his cupped hands towards Roman and revealed what appeared to be a small, grey hamster who somehow looked just as frightened as Emile.

Roman blinked in confusion at the furry creature staring back at him and lifted his eyes to meet Emile's.

"Okay, may I ask why you've brought me a hamster?" Roman looked back and forth from the animal to his friend while awaiting a reply. Emile stumbled over his words as if he hadn't expected the question or at least hadn't thought about how to answer it.

"S-some- R-Remy, he got turned into a h-hamster..." Emile was clearly still in shock and things started to click into place in Roman's head.

"So, you're telling me this hamster is Remy?" Emile gave a shy nod in response and Roman let out a breath in thought. Roman held his hands out to take Remy in a non-verbal ask for permission to hold him.

Emile handed the wizard his husband but fumbled and almost dropped him in the process. Roman inspected the hamster closer for any signs of how this predicament had occurred. Most people would've dismissed such an insane claim but Roman trusted his friends and if Emile said that the hamster was Remy, the hamster was Remy.

"Do you have any idea how it happened?" Roman was relieved when Emile perked up, knowing the answer to this question.

"I'm pretty sure it was something slipped into his coffee, you're the only wizard I know and I thought you could help..." Roman scrunched his features at Emile's first statement and sighed. He turned his attention from Remy to Emile and began explaining.

"To be honest, I can't help you because I'm dreadful at potions. I specialize in spell casting so you'll need someone else." As Roman continued, Emile held back a sob, trying hard not to accept defeat.

"The good thing is, I know just the wizard we need." Roman beckoned Emile to follow after him and pushed past the trembling man to get out the door.

They walked down the empty street and did their best to hide Remy just in case. It was normally a lovely place to stroll through because of the colours, trees, and overall atmosphere but the current situation made it significantly harder to appreciate all that.
