Chapter Twenty-Nine

[LANCASTER]

"Papa!" Tawag ni Andrea sa ama niya nang makapasok kami sa mansion. Kaagad naman na yumakap siya dito at kita ang pagkalito sa mukha ni Mr. Smirnov.

"What's the matter dochʹ? you look happy." (daughter) Mr. Smirnov asked.

"Well I am." She said and glanced at me. "Lancaster and I are getting married."

Tumaas naman ang kilay ni Mr. Smirnov but later on he smiled at her daughter.

"That's good, I am happy for the two of you." He said and he looked at me. "I think Lancaster and I need to talk, yes?" He asked.

Tumingin naman sa akin si Andrea at tumango naman ako bilang sagot, bago umalis ay hinalikan niya muna ako sa labi and she muttered 'I'll be in my room'.

"Have a seat Lancaster." He said at naupo naman ako sa sofa na nandoon. "I see, you are willing to marry my daughter huh?" Natatawang tanong nito.

"I love her so much Mr. Smirnov." I answered.

"That is good to hear, masaya akong may nagmamahal sa kanya matapos ang pinagdaanan niya noong bata pa siya." He said with a thick Russian accent.

"I hope you don't mind but pero...bakit hindi alam ni Andrea ang mga nangyayari?" I asked.

"Because I plan to ease her from our world Lancaster. She's been through a lot." He answered. "That's why I want you to marry her, so that I can give you the position." He added at napahinto naman ako sa sinabi niya.

"But Sir...I don't have any intentions on leading the Organization." I admitted.

He looked at me intently bago nag-iwas ng tingin. "Kung sa ibang tao ko ito sinabi, malamang magdidiwang iyon but you...you are different." He commented.

"I promise Mr. Smirnov, I don't have any intentions to take the lead. I just want to marry Andrea, that's all." I said.

"But someone needs to step-up and lead when I stepped down from the throne." He said and let out a sigh.

"How about Alex?"

"Alex is not really Andrea's brother he is her butler." He admitted and my eyes widened. Seriously?

"Oh."

"I don't have any child besides Andrea that's why she is the one I registered to be my heir." He said. "I didn't know that Fyodor can do it."

"What did he do Sir?" I asked.

"Andrea was kidnapped when she's only eight years old, yes we successfully save her but the trauma is with her." Mr. Smirnov explained.

And now I understand everything. Kung bakit ganoon na lang kumilos si Andrea at kung bakit itim na aura ang nakabalot sa katawan niya.

"That's why I regret putting her name on that system, sinubukan kong bawiin iyon pero hindi ko na magawa."

Hindi naman ako nagsalita dahil ang isip ko ay abala sa pag-iisip ng mga gagawin. Andrea's life is bigger than I thought.

"Please Lancaster, marry her and protect her at all cost. Kahit iyon na lang..." He plead.

Tinignan ko naman siya and I can see that he is really pleading.

I let out a sigh. "I'll marry and protect her Sir." I answered at saka tumingin sa tiled floor ng mansion. "At tinatanggap ko po ang posisyon."
