We are walking towards the hallway. I'd be honest to say that I'm nervous and I don't even know why.
Actually, we already met the doctors and scientists that we'll be working with. I was really intimidated by their presence yesterday.
Napatingin ako sa daan habang inaalala ang nangyari kahapon.
Naglakad na kami palabas ng room. Tinungo namin ang grand door para salubungin ang mga visitors. My hands were quietly trembling and I was hoping that my companions wouldn't notice it.
Unfortunately, Gastin completely caught my movements while I'm trying to conceal my nervousness. He tapped my shoulders to calm me and it's helping by the way.
"Kinakabahan ka rin?"
Tumingin naman ako sa kaniya na medyo naguluhan nang tanungin niya ako. Kinakabahan rin kaya siya? O sila?
"No, I'm not but, those two are also nervous."
Itinuro niya ang dalawa, sina Dash at Kisher. I nodded.
Medyo pumupula pa ang mukha ni Kisher habang si Dash naman ay hindi mapakali at galaw ng galaw. Mabuti nga itong si Ereel at Gastin parang wala lang sa kanila. Wait--
I immediately looked back at him and he was a bit startled. He amusedly looked at me when I squinted my eyes at him.
"How did you know what I'm thinking? Nakain na rin ba ng technology ang utak mo at mind reader ka na rin ngayon?"
Ilang saglit pa siyang napatitig sa akin bago lumabas ang halakhak sa kaniyang bibig.
Okay, that wasn't a good compliment. Buti na lang hindi siya pikunin. He just chuckled at my remarks saka ginulo ang buhok ko. Seriously? Why do boys act like that? Nanggugulo ng buhok.
"You're funny. Your face says it all. It's kinda bit easy to read what you're thinking when your expression changes."
Oh, that?
Medyo na-conscious naman ako sa pagmumukha ko. Ganoon na ba ka-obvious ang iniisip ko dahil sa mga expressions ko? Ah, kailangan ko na yatang pag-aaralan ang Basic Expressionless Lesson 101 ni Ereel.
"Aren't you at least intimidated to meet them?" I asked him.
He just shrugged. Wala naman talaga sa kaniya yata yung pagmeet sa kanila.
Sabagay, baka sanay na sila sa mga ganito dahil naranasan na rin naman nilang pumasok sa mga paligsahan at paniguradong madami na rin silang nakilalang may mga matataas na propesyon.
"Not really. I'm just wondering what kind of persons they are and what kind of personalities they have. Mahirap makipagtrabaho sa masyadong strict at close minded. I hope they're not like that."
He was already checking the time when I looked at him. Tumango na lang ulit ako saka ipinagpatuloy ang paglalakad.
Inabot ni Dash ang doorknob para buksan ang pinto at makita ang mga bisita. I took a step forward habang nakayuko ngunit nabangga ako sa likod ni Ereel.
Pag-angat ko ng tingin sa kaniya ay nakadiretso lang ang tingin niya sa labas ng pintuan habang nakatigil.
"Hey. Is there any problem?"
Pagkatanong ko ay hindi siya tumingin pabalik saka umiling lamang. He walked straight outside the door leaving me and Gastin behind.
I looked at Gastin with a questioning face, but he just shrugged. Ereel's getting weirder.
