REMEMBER: Chapter 29

Is being hopeful that bad?

Kapag kase umaasa tayo, hindi pa rin natin maiiwasang madisappoint sa mga bagay. Two days ago was a nightmare to all of us.

Sir Mark is still recovering from his injury. Dash already have woken up a few hours after he got smashed by a bottle in the head.

Mika turned into a complete psycho.

Gastin...

But starting to forget.

We thought everything will turn out okay after Dr. Sebastian injected the medicine to alter the effect of the drug that Mika has given to him. So much for our hopes.

Few moments after his waves went back to normal, Dr. Ivory saw some thin lines moving differently on his brain waves. His vital signs also came different as he began shouting with pain.

He almost banged his head on the wall if Dr. Ivory and Sir Artan hadn't injected him a calming drug. They held him back.

We all panicked but I couldn't go on beside him. I've had exposure on the virus already so I couldn't move even near or stay longer with him.

Dr. Sebastian, Professor Clart and I were isolated. We stayed at different rooms that is near to Gastin. We are also being monitored while waiting the results of our lab tests.

"Pristin, snacks?"

Narinig ko ang tanong ni Kisher sa kabilang linya ng tap. I feel numb.

I can't call myself stupid enough in drawing myself near to danger because if I didn't do anything in the first place, I could have just watched my friend die which will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Maybe, bravery hit me at the wrong time and worst scenario.

"Pristin."

Napapitlag ako ng marinig muli ang boses ni Kisher. I shook my head. Negativity is pulling me again.

"Any food will do."

I said. I feel like I'm in a hospital. In a hospital bed and hospital gown and smell of alcohols and many things that can remind me the picture of it in my head.

"How is she?"

Hindi ko mapigilang tanungin ang kalagayan ng babaeng naglagay sa amin sa ganitong punto. Kumukulo ang dugo ko sa kaniya ngunit mas nangingibabaw ang awa ko.

I pity her for doing this just to save herself.

Naglandas ang katahimikan mula sa pagkakatanong ko. Narinig ko na lang na may tumikhim.

"She's locked on the basement. Anytime tomorrow, she will be under the care of rehabilitation center."

Hindi ako nakaimik dahil doon.

"Katatapos lang ng trial para sa third main formula."

Napahinga ako ng maluwag doon. Tinanaw ko mula sa glass screen ang labas. Bahagya pa akong lumapit doon para tignan ang ginagawa ng mga kasama ko.

"Pang-ilan?"

Tanong ko habang tinitignan ang iba. Si Prof. Clart ay nagrereview ng mga papeles sa kaniyang kama. Dr. Sebastian is inspecting the drug that Mika had injected to Gastin.

Ako lang yata ang walang ginagawa. Gastin is sleeping.

"Kung isasama ang mga naunang trial ay ika-38 na nito."

Rinig kong usal ni Kisher. Narinig ko rin ang paglalakad nila mula sa talaktak ng kaniyang suot na sandal.

"Lumabas na pala ang resulta."
