Chapter 30

"Hm, should i buy him coloring pencils or markers instead?"

Caleb thinks as he looks for some coloring materials for Javi.

"I'll just buy both, and maybe get him some glitter."

He gets the stuff he needs and goes to the cashier to pay for them.

As he was paying, his phone rang.

He picked both of his phone and wallet out of his pocket.

He answered his phone without looking at the caller id and took some money out of his wallet.

"Yo," He says while handing the money to the cashier.

"Hey, Caleb."

And then he realized that the one who was calling him was Joe.

His mood dropped. "What do you want? Don't worry, I'll bring the coloring stuff back on my way back home."

The cashier gives him his stuff in a paper bag and his change.

He says a quick 'thank you' and leaves the store.

"You can have them if you want. So you don't have to buy them yourself. I can just buy Carson some new ones-"

"Are you calling me lazy?"

I mean, he isn't wrong but still.

"No. I was just saying-"

Caleb cut him off by hanging up.

He turned off his phone and went to his car.

He went straight to Carson's and Joe's house.

When he got there, he went up to the door and knocked. For the first time.

Normally he just barges in like he owns the place.

Joe opened the door.

Joe was about to say something but Caleb shoved Carson's bag of coloring materials to his chest and turned around, walking away.

"W-wait! Caleb!"

Caleb heard Joe say as he goes in his car and drives away to his own home.

Joe sighs.

He goes in his house to the living room where Carson is.

Carson was playing on his phone while laying on the couch.

Joe puts the bag in front of him. "I got your coloring stuff back."

The little looks up from his phone and smiles at his caregiver.

"Yay! I can color again!" He says excitedly, getting up.

"It's time for bed." Joe gloomily said. Guilty as hell for making his friend upset.

The little frowns at him. "But, daddy, it's just 8:43–"

"Whatever, I'm going to sleep then." Joe turns around went to their bedroom.

Carson was left there, dumbfounded. What was wrong with his daddy?

Well, he definitely looked like he wasn't in a good mood.

Carson thought of trying to comfort him.

So he went upstairs to their room.

"Daddy, are you alright?"

He asks as he enters the room.

But his daddy didn't answer.

He goes to their bed to see Joe laying there, sleeping he presumed.
