Learning to live: dates

I woke to the sound of clanging and Lucas tiny voice down stairs an the faint smell of cheese buns.
I rolled over to see what time it was, 9am not too late then.
I pulled myself out of bed rubbing my eyes and deciding to play my game in my head just incase.

"Good morning" I said to the boys.
"Auntie katkat" Luca smiled running at me
"how are you this morning?" I asked him.
"good" he said hugging me.
I really would miss him being here all day and night when Annie comes back.
"Annie rang, he train gets in at 5pm so I said I'd pick her up from the train station" peeta told me
"Have you missed your mummy?" I asked Luca.
"Yeah" he said more interested in the cartoon he was watching.
"3 year olds" I laughed
"Want some coffee?"
"Yeah thanks peet" I smiled at him
"You heard off Johanna or gale?" I added
"Nope haven't heard off gale in over a week his phones been off"
"Really?"
"Yep" he replied adding milk to the piping hot mug
"Everyone is so weird lately"
"Yeah, weird how Effie an haymitch still are on holiday" he said
"Not really they might of just needed a break" I defended them
"A break from what? Exactly" he laughed
"Okay that's true but" I couldn't think of what else to say
"They've been away for nearly a month and nobody has heard off either of them" he shrugged
"Right well that's a little scary" I stared a peeta
"Well I thought you would of known nobody has mentioned it"
"Yeah well I've been a little distracted" I shrugged
"We all have" he replied
"Maybe we should try an ring them?" I suggested
"yeah maybe they're just having a nice time"
"Maybe" I nodded
A little while passed before I spoke again.
I had to tread carefully around this subject "have you had a flash back this morning?"
"Nope" he smiled
"So that's what 4 days with out one?"
"Yep" he couldn't stop smiling
"Well thAts a new record" I smiled back writing it on the calendar that hung in our kitchen. November 24th.
December 6th was when the war officially ended.
So that will be 4 years in 12 days.
