"Do I really have to watch?" I lazily said while Cara was pulling me towards the gymnasium.
"Duh, basketball fan ka 'di ba? Tara na!" her force was not enough to drag me.
"Sus, you just want to see Hiroki with me eh," I teased her.
She jokingly glared at me as she pouted her lips.
"Oo nga, kaya let's go na," she tried pulling harder this time.
I almost fell on my feet when a bunch of girls pushed me as they tried to get in the gym as well. Cara successfully dragged me because these waves of women helped her. I got no choice but to go along their flow.
"Hi Cara!" a bunch of guys greeted her when we're making our way to our seat, just behind our basketball team's bench. She didn't mind them because she's too busy looking for Hiro.
Every time Cara and I walk together at the campus, a lot of guys hit on her, but she doesn't give any attention to them. Puro siya Hiro, gusto talaga ng real life anime character!
Though labag sa loob ko na pumunta dito because I know I'll just see Kupal's face again, I'm also curious of how our varsity team plays.
I played basketball ever since I was young and Joben was my mentor. When I moved to States, I didn't join my high school's basketball team, but I play ball for fun with my homies. So, I pretty much have a lot of knowledge about this sport.
"MY BABY IS BAAAACK!!!" a girl behind me shouted.
And her baby is Jayden, who just made his way out of the dugout with Hiroki. Everybody screamed at the top of their lungs. I covered my ears.
Sa States, kahit gaano pa ka pogi yung players, people will just make loud noises when a player makes a good play. While here, these girls made the game a mall show.
"Lyxie, masanay ka na, okay?" Cara removed my palms from my ears.
I brought my gaze back to the boys. Jayden is so stubborn. Hiroki just told him last Thursday that he's not ready for the game, but here he is, in his jersey and warmers.
He's wearing a basketball head tie and a Lebron 16 Low 'Titan x Agimat'. He got some good kicks, I'm a little jealous.
"Hiro isn't using the shoes I gave him again," Cara pouted.
"Seriously? You gave him shoes? What shoes?"
"Jordan Jumpman 2020."
"What? That's a really good basketball shoe, especially on courts like these!"
"I know, I researched about it before buying it, but..." she sighed, "Aki said Hiro rarely uses it and I don't know why."
"M-maybe, he wasn't using it kasi ayaw niya masira agad," I comforted her, but she just went quiet.
Jayden and Hiro are making their way towards the bench. I swallowed after remembering what happened the last time, it was so cringy.
When he saw me, he just grinned and playfully drank water from his tumbler. We just saw each other again but he's trying to get in my nerves already.
I just showed him an I'll-slit-your-throat-to-death gesture. He wasn't intimidated because he looked at my chest again.
"It's nice that you're back, baby!" the girl behind me yelled and kupal winked at her.
Sus, 'pag sinabihan ko 'to gung gaano ka-manyak 'yung baby niya, she'd surely shut up. Or like it even more, parang gusto niyang manyakin din siya ni Jayden eh.
