Chapter IX

He is not even thinking straight. It will be suspicious to Cara if somebody will suddenly fetch me here. Also, I already promised to tita that my driver will accompany me every time I go out.

'Wag na, I'm coming.

"Who's messaging you? Kanina pa 'yan ah," Cara asked with a worried face.

Maybe she thought that I was receiving hate messages again.

"Wala, T-Travis just texted that we have an emergency band meeting today at the twins'," Cara just nodded.

It's hard to hide something from someone. I don't know if I can keep this from Cara any longer, especially that she is very nosy.

I stuffed a whole pancake into my mouth and rushed upstairs.

"Hindi ka naman excited, ano?" I heard Cara scream.

"Bawal?" I responded.

I managed to arrive at the twins' house at 8:30.

"Ba't ka late?" Jayden opened the front door for me with his cold eyes darted on mine.

Him staring at me like that is making me feel tensed. It's like a timebomb that will kill me if I'm unable to answer immediately. Nakakainis!

But then, I remembered what Tita warned me---to not get in trouble with Jayden. So starting today, I'll be extra nice even though gusto ko na siyang patayin. It'll be a challenge, but I'll try my best to handle it.

"Where did you get my number?" I answered his question with a question.

"Why didn't you follow me back?" he did the same.

"Why did you even follow me in the first place?"

"Why do you have a lot of questions?"

"Why are you not answering any of my questions?"

"Why are you so annoying?" he asked as he messed his hair out of frustration.

I released a deep sigh. Even though I was already tempted to step on his toe, I managed to calm myself. We just saw each other again but we're already on a feud, I can't stand this guy.

"Can we at least get inside first?" I asked, and he leaded me inside.

When we got in, I immediately saw Kiyo lying on the couch.

"H-Hi Kiyo," I hesitantly elevated my palm, he waved back. "I was j---"

I was about to explain for myself but Jayden already cut me off.

"Don't worry, Kiyo already knows. And he won't say a word to my Mom, 'di naman sila nag-uusap 'nun," Jayden told me before we headed out of the sliding door.

"But never tell Aki, okay? Buti na nga lang, wala siya dito ngayon," I nodded.

It feels weird that we're hiding this. As if we're doing illegal, hindi naman kami nagdadrug trade dito.

"Hi JJ's female version," Hiro greeted me in a low voice so that Jayden won't hear him.

I rolled my eyes.

"I am not a violent person and an asshole like him," I whispered back.

Kansas waved his right hand to me while his left hand was dribbling. I waved back to him. Kansas is such a sweet soul. It's a good thing that he's around here to balance things up.
