Chapter XXIII

My phone buzzed.

From: Cara Dixie

Oy san ka na? Punta ka dito sa sala, kakanta na ng happy birthday.

I looked at Jayden who is now trying to play the guitar, he looks stupid. Since he looks calm na naman, I think we should really head back to the party now.

"Uh, are you relaxed now?" I asked him and he nodded. "Baba na tayo."

He looked at me with confusion, "Ayaw mo ba dito? It's pretty chill here."

"They'll sing the birthday song na 'raw for the twins."

"Tsk, fine," he stood up and placed the guitar on the stand.

When we were about to leave the room, he placed his bomber jacket on my shoulder. I looked at him with a wondering face.

"Malamig sa baba. Alam kong lalamigin ka diyan sa suot mo," Jayden said.

"Wait," I held him back before going downstairs.

"Oh?" he played with his tongue.

"Uhm maybe you should go first then, I'll just follow. Baka kasi mahalata nilang magkasama tayo," I warned him.

He looked at me with his eyebrows furrowed, "Sus, fuck them."

He pulled me as we went downstairs together. Good thing, everyone's attention was on the twins. Only Aki's eyes caught Jayden's hand gripping on my wrist. He looked at us with confusion.

"Happy birthday to you!" everybody sang in unison.

The living room was filled with college students filming using their phones.

The twins blew their own cakes at the same time. The two looks surprisingly attractive tonight. Aki is wearing a long neck underneath his black coat, matched with a pair of black slacks. On the other hand, Kiyo is wearing a band shirt underneath his black leather blazer paired with ripped jeans. He tied is hair clean so his jaws are visible right now. Though their outfits were a total opposite of each other's, they both rocked it.

"Wait, I'll just get some drinks," Jayden told me and I nodded.

I looked around, everyone here looks gorgeous tonight. I'm starting to see familiar faces. I saw some of the guys' opponents from the past basketball games and some schoolmates.

"Oh?" I was startled after I saw Kansas already standing beside me.

He looked at me in awe while covering his lips. Alam ko na ang iniisip nitong demonyong 'to.

"Parang kang babae ngayon," he told me with a scared smile.

"Shut up, babae naman talaga ako eh. Ikaw mukha kang lalaki ngayon, congrats."

"Weh?" he pretended to be shocked.

I aimed a fist to him and he started covering himself with his arms.

"Eto na aalis na," he was stepping away from me with his hands still protecting himself.

He's so hilarious every time he's afraid of me. I browsed around the place again and Caden caught my eyes. He is whispering something to Aki's ear while Aki is staring at me with confusion. I felt a bit of fear by just looking at Aki's eyes.

"Hey saan ka galing?" I was interreupted by Cara.

I looked at her with my eyes wide open because of shock.
