Chapter XVIII

"Tita is really like that. That's why she's against JJ's basketball career because she knows he'll just catch a lot of attention from girls at that sport," Kiyo explained.

Jayden's mom is so possessive. I don't what she wants for his son. Daig pa nga niya 'yung mga magulang ng mga dalaga kung makabakod. As if Jayden and I will do something glorious inside his condo.

"But there's only one exception to Tita Liza's rule. There's this girl that she has been pushing to Jayden ever since his dad died."

"Who?"

"Felicity? Felice? 'Di 'ko sure," Kiyo shrugged.

"Who's that?"

"I'm not certain, pero parang anak 'ata siya ng family friend nila."

My eyebrows furrowed. Questions started to crowd my mind. That Felicity better be special to be an exception.

"Why do you look so pissed?" Kiyo curiously asked.

I've just realized that I've been making a mad face.

"I'm not!" I said.

"Well, you don't have to shout," Kiyo replied. "Bakit nga ba kayo magkasama sa condo?"

This is the longest conversation Kiyo and I ever had. In fairness, may sense naman pala siya kausap. It's also his first time being nosy.

It's our rehearsal's break and it was only the two of us who were left inside the studio. I was really bothered about what Jayden's mom told me so, I decided to ask Kiyo about her. Tutal, he's the only one here who's aware to what Jayden and I are up to.

"Bakit? Bawal?" I also asked him a question in defense.

"Did you..." he paused for a while. "Alam mo, open minded naman ako---"

"Do you want me to shave your head? You think Jayden and I would do that?" I cut him off.

Jayden was right, it's impossible for a guy and a girl to be friends without people being malicious.

"You're OA, Alyx. Siyempre, you are both young adults who can feel..." I raised my eyebrows. "...you know, that term that starts with letter L."

I grabbed my guitar and aimed to smash it on his head. Minsan may downside din talaga 'yung pagiging honest ni Kiyoshi.

"Gusto mo masabihan ng masasamang words? If this isn't just your house, I don't know what I already did to you," Kiyo protected his head.

"'Di wow," he said while showing me his middle finger.

"Let's resume," the other three came back and grabbed their own instruments.

He should be thankful that the three other guys saved him because if they arrived later, maybe Squidward is already bald by now.

I couldn't focus all throughout the practice. My mind already went crazy about what Jayden told me on his car last Tuesaday plus his mom added up to my anxiety.

When our practice ended, the twins left with Travis and Syd. The cousins will already head home, while 'yung twins ay may dadaanan 'raw na event organizer because their birthday is already next week.

So today will not be that hard for us to cover up since it would only be the four of us left here in this house.

I went to the court and as usual, they are already starting. Jayden doesn't know what his mom told me the last time, and I have no plans on telling him. Maybe if I would, things will just worsen.
