Ako ang Iyong Tahanan (ON GOING)

Chapter XXIV

"Sydney, stand up," Travis tried pulling Sydney up, but she continued to lean her body on the table.

"Five minutes," Sydney replied as she tugged her arms from him.

We couldn't start our practice because Sydney still has hangover from the party last night. She's been laying around the music studio the whole day and cut some of her classes. Tapos eto namang si Travis, di man lang pumayag ng free day despite knowing the fact that everyone's exhausted.

"'Yan, Bacardi pa eh," Aki shook his head as he turned his book's page.

I looked at him who is silently studying right now. Though it wasn't my fault, I still felt bad for ruining his birthday night.

"Alyx, ikaw na muna kumanta," Sydney lifted her head to talk.

Mukha siyang bruha, swear. Everyone looked at me. Travis nodded his head, agreeing with what Sydney just said.

"Tsk, do I have a choice?" I grabbed my strato and stood before the mic stand.

"Can't you see that I'm the one who understands you? Been here all along. So why can't you see? You belong with me..."

The band decided to learn this song today.

"You belong with me," right after I finished the last line, someone knocked on the music studio's door.

"Come in," Travis shouted.

It was Jayden Jason Freaking Natividad. He's wearing a striped shirt paired with shorts and a baseball cap.

"Did I disturb you guys?" Jayden asked.

I wanted to yell yes, but I didn't do it. I looked at Aki, and I also caught him looking at me.

Travis shook his head, "Not at all."

"Okay, can I borrow Aki for a sec then?" Jayden asked.

I tried to not to look at Aki's direction. I really hope this isn't about the confrontation last night, I don't want to be a reason for some cousin feud.

"Sure," Aki replied with a straight face and took a glance of me before leaving.

Jayden showed me a quick smile before leaving.

My heart started beating quickly. I know how afraid Aki is to Jayden. I really think Jayden will call him out about what he speculated me last night. I hope he does it nicely and not step on Aki's ego. Jayden's mouth can be disrespectful at times pa naman.

"Come on, guys. Let's resume," Aki came back after a few minutes.

He wasn't flashing any emotion from his face. He's not giving any hint, so I can't tell what they had talked about.

After the practice, I already have no class, but I have a meeting with my thesis partners, Ella, Rain, and Beatrice. We met at a café within the school's premises. It was already seven, so we planned to just have our dinner there as well.

"Were you at the party last night?" Ella asked me.

"Yeah, were you?" I asked while I was typing on my laptop.

She nodded.

"Geez, ikaw nga 'yung babaeng umawat kay JJ from hitting Caden," she told me with her palms covering her mouth due to disbelief.

"Huh?" I tried my best to sound innocent.

"We weren't sure pa at first kasi you have red hair. Tapos 'yung girl kagabi has brown hair. Eh nagpa-dye ka pala last Saturday, so ikaw talaga 'yun!" Rain looked so sure about what she just said.
