From: Travis Lopez
No practice today.
"What?" I was startled when I received Travis' text.
"Why?" Cara asked me while we're making our way to the cafeteria.
Ever since Jayden and I had this cool off thing, Cara and I started to have lunch together.
"Ang unusual, Travis just texted us na wala kaming band practice today," I placed my phone on my pocket.
"Wait, anong araw ba ngayon?" Cara stopped walking.
"Thursday," I replied. "Oh, now I know why. We're supposed to have our rehearsals at the twins' studio today. Is Travis avoiding Hiro?"
I saw how Cara's face became worried, "Hala, 'wag naman sana. B-Baka may iba naman siyang reason."
Cara is still obviously affected. I kept convincing her that none of what happened was her fault, but she still kept blaming herself. She felt guilty especially that Hiro's bruised face is now all over the social media. Good thing, hindi nadisclose na si Travis 'yung gumawa because if that happens, I'm sure mas malala 'yung aabutin ni Travis sa fans kaysa noong ininsulto ko si Jayden.
"Oo nga, you know what? Let's just grab lunch, okay? Hayaan mo na, it has nothing to do with you," I continued walking and she followed me.
"Ako na mag-oorder, you stay here," Cara told me before she went to the counter.
I nodded and took the nearest vacant table.
After lunch, I have this quiz for Finance so I took out my laptop and scanned my PDFs.
I was interrupted when my phone suddenly rang, it was Jayden. It's been a while since he last called me on my phone. I don't know why, but I kind of miss his phone voice. I'm sure it wasn't just because he sounded like Joben. I miss his gravelly voice and his accent.
Me: Hey! You called.
Jayden: Obviously.
Me: Uh ba't ka napatawag?
Jayden: I heard your band practice is cancelled today. Just wanted to inform you that our mentoring will still resume.
Me: Okay, I know that.
Jayden: Malay ko ba? Paano 'pag may balak ka palang mag-awol?
Me: Wow, you think I would do that?
Jayden: Of course, Alyx. You are so capable of escaping from any type of commitment.
Me: O-Okay?
Jayden: See you later.
Me: O-Okay?
Jayden: Pft.
He sounded like he was stopping his laughter before he ended the call.
"Who was that?" Cara came back with a tray on her hands.
"Jayden," I responded.
It seems like she wasn't shocked anymore, parang in-expect niya pa nga eh.
She placed the tray on the table and sat across me, "Okay, Lyxie. Tell me what's the real score between you two?"
I released a sigh before telling her everything. After all, Cara deserves to know all of it. I told him about our confessions in his car, him meeting my Papa, our mini fight, and our current-hindi-ko-maintindihan-kung-ano-nga-ba-kami status.
