Chapter XXI

"Sydney, isa! Lumabas ka na diyan," Cara ordered her while knocking on her door.

Cara and I are outside Sydney's bedroom door. Her brother told us that she'd been crying since last night because his boyfriend dumped him. I was shocked, I was not even aware that she's in a relationship. I've never seen Sydney with a guy, and she never talked about him.

"Bakit 'raw ba nag-break, Zib?" Cara asked Syd's brother.

He shrugged, "'Di ko po alam basta parang nag-away lang po sila sa phone kagabi tapos umiyak na si Ate."

Her brother is just six, and he looks so adorable explaining what happened last night. I badly wanted him to bring home.

Cara sighed as she hardly knocked the door again, "Sydney Venus buksan mo 'to, lalabas tayo nina Alyx."

There was still no response.

"Sydney, pinapaka---"

"Oo nga, nandito na ako oh. Naligo lang ako eh," she suddenly came out of her door while she's drying her hair with a towel.

"Walang hiya ka, pinakaba mo pa kami. What happened ba kasi?" Cara asked while she's holding her chest.

"Wala, tara na nga," she walked past us and left her towel on the sofa.

Though she's acting tough, it's obvious that she cried because her eyes were red and puffy.

While we were following her, we bumped over Travis.

"H-Hi Cara," he shyly greeted Cara.

This is amazing, it's like the first time that he greeted Cara. Pero ako hindi niya pinansin.

Cara just gave him a quick look and an awkward wave. I really can't understand these two, if Cara's trying to be nice, Travis is not on the mood, if Travis is trying to be nice, Cara is not on the mood.

"Hoy Sydney, sabihin mo na nga sa amin kung ano 'yung nangyari," Cara said while her arms are crossed.

We're on our way to the mall. We'll go shopping 'raw even though I was just going to accompany them. The three of us are in the passenger seat of Cara's car, Sydney is sitting in between us.

"Nakipag-break si Xion sa akin, that's it," Sydney said like she wasn't paying attention because she's on her phone.

"Ano ba 'yan? Deets please!"

"Ang chismosa mo talaga, Ca."

"Grabe ka, we're just concerned. You're fresh from a heartbreak tapos may nagbreak na naman sa 'yo," Cara sighed. "Ba't di mo kami gayahin ni Alyx? Chill lang 'yung love life, di ba?"

I gave her a WTF look. Chill 'raw, eh halos mabaliw na nga minsan kay Hiro.

"Don't involve me," I faced away from them.

"Chill my ass," Sydney rolled her eyes.

"Ay, attitude ka ngayon? Hoy hindi ako si Xion kaya huwag ako 'yung awayin mo. Concerned lang naman ako sa 'yo eh."

These two are hilarious. Mula sa bahay nina Syd hanggang sa mall, away lang nang away.

"At least ako madami nang naging jowa," Sydney said while her bag was being checked by the guard on the mall entrance.

"So? Puro naman palpak, still useless" Cara rebutted.

I don't get Cara. I thought we brought Syd with us today to cheer her up, mag-aaway lang pala sila.
