Monique's POV
"Kapag bilang na yung mga araw mo, ano ang gagawin mo?"
Naka-uwi kami around ten in the morning, Saturday. I went to my doctor- which is mama ni Tricia. She smiled at me, as if hindi ako yung worst enemy ng anak niya.
"Hello Monique," sabi niya.
"Hello po," I greeted.
"Oh? What brings you around?" tanong niya. She pointed at the chair besides her table asking me to sit there.
"Dok, may nga pasa po ako sa katawan ko," sabi ko. "All around my body."
"Come with me," sabi niya. We went to a room. Tinapat niya yung X-ray saakin, and within a flash of light were done.
"Monique hija, atayin mo muna sa labas yung result ha, ipapatawag lang kita," sabi niya.
I sat at the chairs outside. Katabi ko ay isang batang babae. She was playing a video game on her Plays Station. She smiled at me.
"Ano ang sakit mo ate?" she asked.
"Ah... Hepatitis C," sabi ko.
"Mamamatay ka na po ba?"
I was shocked of her question.
"Hindi ko alam... Sigiro... Bat mo natanong yan?" I asked her.
"May sakit ring ganyan si mama," sabi niya. "Kala ko nga magtatagal siya, she promised me a last gift on my birthday," she showed me her psp, "and its this. Few days later she died on the ICU."
"Namimiss mo na ba siya?"
"Most of the time I guess, I mean sino naman po diba ang hindi mamimiss ang kanilang nanay?"sabi niya.
I was amazed of how this girl could talk.
"Pero alam mo ate, God knows what's best for a person, siya ang nakakaalam ng lahat," sabi niya. "And we should never question God's plans."
I smiled.
My name was called by Dr. Madrigal's assistant. When I entered, my doctor gave me a small smile- oh my, something's not write.
"Monique, I'm very sad to say. The antibiotics stopped working," sabi niya. "Your body's resisting the medicines."
Wait, ano raw ang sabi niya? Hindi na raw gumagana ang mga antibiotics? So ano ang ibig niyang sabihin?
"Po? Ano po yung sabi niyo?"
"Monique, I am really sorry but your days are numbered," sabi niya. "Anytime bibigay na yang atay mo."
I dropped a tear, "Doc, tell me your lying?"
"Sorry," sabi niya.
And we should never question God's plans- sabi nung bata. Tama, I should never question God's plans. I wiped my tear off.
I smiled at her, "Doc, promise me you won't tell my mom. I have to be the one to tell them."
She nod.

The following days I waited. Waited for death to come. I still haven't told my parents that my days are numbered- I was waiting for the right time. When? When your dead. Psh! Monique, you should make your move stop whining!
I woke up one Sunday morning, remembering that it was my birthdate. This is the right time to spill my due death.
"Happy Birthday my dearest love!" Welvic rang on the other line.
"Good morning love," sabi ko. "Salamat sa paggising saakin ng alas dose ng umaga."
