A/N I hope yous enjoy this 4000 word update lmao. I just updated chapter 35 as well so make sure you read that one before u read this."So, does this mean I'm forgiven?" He asks and I scrunch my nose up at him, but as I wasn't able to hide my smile he knows he is.
"Why did you text me tonight?" Jackson asks, laying back on my bed and looking up towards my ceiling.
"Because the weather was freaking me out." I laugh and explain "It's not even funny, but the loudness outside kept making me think that Layton was out there."
There's a sudden flash of lightning outside and a low grumble a few seconds later. I look at Jackson wide eyed, thinking how perfect timing that was.
"I love storms." He says immediately getting up to sit on my window seat.
Dragging myself and my blanket that is wrapped around me to Jackson's side, I cross my legs and look outside as well.
"I remember you saying actually. Like you wanted to go out in the storm Saturday night." I say.
"It just thought you'd enjoy it" He chuckles and as he speaks there is another mutter of thunder from the blackened sky outside and the wind picked up tearing leaves from the trees outside. The rain lashed down, torrential, unforgivingly against my window and Jackson got this look in his eye.
"No Jackson." I say sternly.
"Oh, come on! Let's go outside. Come on I'm sure you've been outside in a storm before." He laughs and jumps of the ledge standing in front of me.
"Actually, no Jackson I haven't. Why on earth would I have?"
"Because its exhilarating. Come on." He groans trying to pull me to my feet.
"No." I groan laughing at him.
"You said I could help you fall back in love with living. Let me remind you how it feels to be alive. Come on." He grins at me, excited about the prospect of going outside in the storm.
"Jackson you're such a kid. We're going to get soaked if we go out there." I say.
"That's half of the point. Come on. We'll grab towels or whatever for after."
"I'm scared of Layton Jackson." I admit, the prospect of going outside actually being a little frightening.
"We'll go out back and I'll be there every second were outside. By your side. I promise you you're safe. "
"This is a bad idea." I say smiling back as Jackson's grin gets larger. He's just happy he's about to get his way.
Jackson rushes around my room getting a few towels from my bathroom and beckons me to follow him downstairs.
"Wait we're just going out there in these?" I saw gesturing to our clothes.
"Yeah, we'll only be out there for a second and then we'll change and get dry."
"You brought a change of clothes then." I smirk at him, shaking my head suggestively.
"I slept in jeans last time Ives, of course I brought a change of clothes." He laughs.
"Who said you were even staying?" I grin back at him.
"Me. Now come on."
I like it when he's commanding.
"I'm coming, wait." I laugh and abandon my blanket. He doesn't wait for me though he just jogs down the stairs and I cringe at how much noise his large body makes. I text my mum, explaining that we're watching the storm if they hear the backdoor open, imagining they may wake up with the thunder.
