I was given a second chance when I met her.

Taken in arms and bathed in redemption, she occupied my heart in ways I never knew I had space for. Occupies; still does. She's erased every year of hell with days of bliss. And in so many ways.

She's blessed me in so many ways.

First in her trust. In the way, she offered me a chance.  Gave me a chance. In her care, faith and ear. She was the first to really listen, and then she was the first to really see. Because she was willing to, open to, wanting to give me a chance to prove myself more. And to do it for the most important person - the most important person then, at that time - me. First, it was that.

Then it was in the learning. The fumbling. The awkward realisation that I was only a kid and she was a beautiful girl and I had no game without my name. And I was humbled. And human. That's how she blessed me next, by making me feel human again. Making me feel like a teen in love.
