My eyes opened slowly, not wanting to see the bright light that was shining through the curved windows of the castle. It had been two full days and nights that I was stuck here. Now I was starting to have bad thoughts in my mind; I knew they weren't true though. My pack wouldn't just leave me here. Though I didn't know much about Dion, somehow I also knew that he wouldn't forsake me. I trusted him and had this strange attraction to him. It was alright to have feelings anyway. I was tricked by someone who I thought was my own mate.

Stupid Mallory. You're just a girl who never thinks and just does. Groaning, I pulled myself into a sitting position. I had two days to think about what the golden clamps were doing to me. They were sucking out the power in me and were being held in the chains so that whoever put it on would have my strength. Okay, maybe I'm not as stupid as I thought.

Once or twice I saw West come in but he would leave after an hour or two. I could feel Isla's wolf still sad so I knew he wasn't going back to her. I growled silently hoping he wasn't going to some side chick. If he was doing that, it would hurt Isla physically too. She had described to me what it looked like because she saw it from the girl called Lacey at the Southern Pack.

I grabbed the bars and leaned my head against the side, stretching out my legs--well, as much as I could because of the dang one hundred pound ball--and sighed. "So, like, are you going to get me any food, Ryan? I'm dying for some Doritos. Cool ranch, especially." I said to the messy blonde hair man. I used to love running my fingers through that hair. Now I would still love to run my hands through it and pull it out in clumps.

"For the last time, no. You just get more strength...even with that nasty junk food." He turned to look at me away from his bubbling potions. "But dang, I must say, you still look hot with your blonde curls that are just dirty. Makes you look bad." Ryan winked and flicked my forehead and left the room. Yep, I would love to bite those two fingers off.

Clove still wasn't talking to me. She was too weak. I wanted my wolf to speak to me. "Please," I whispered to her in my mind, pulling my legs to my chest. Even if she was a pain in the butt, loving her was the best thing in the world. We were two in one. Everything hurt. The silver in my fur would be an obsidian color if I ever had the strength to shift.

How many times have I tried to teleport to the conference room, or at least to the bottom of the mountain? It just would not work. "Goddess, where are you?"

Hope. The one thing I only had to cling on to. And that was hope.

The door banged open, making me yelp in surprise. Both the men came in looking furious. West went to the table of books and started to flip through many of the pages of a particularly thick one. Ryan stomped over to me, fiery anger in his eyes. I attempted to move back from the front of the cage but he wrapped both of his hands around the top of my throat where the clasp wasn't touching through the bars.

"How did you get in contact with them?! You have no line with your wolf!" He lifted me into the air as I struggled to get his hands off of me.

"I-I didn't" I whispered, gasping for air, my legs flailing.

Ryan growled, his eyes narrowing. "Then why am I seeing both the Beta and Delta gathering a crowd? Obviously to get you! It's too early."

My eyes widened. Were they really? Early for what? Dark spots started to dot my vision as my legs started to go slack. "Delta! You said we wouldn't harm her." West's voice called out. I was suddenly dropped back onto the floor as he let go of me.
