Sitting up on the bed, I looked over at Dion who was sleeping soundly. Smiling, I kissed his bare shoulder and got out of bed, throwing on his shirt.

Walking over to my desk, I opened the book that Lacey had given me back to where I had stopped reading. I was just getting to the part where what a god or goddess had to do to be imprisoned or summoned for an execution.

I ran my finger down the curly text. Most of them were normal compared to our werewolf laws, but some were also obscure like eating from a certain plant or naming an offspring a name that isn't lawful according to Eileithyia. Then my eye caught something interesting. If a god or goddess lay with someone that wasn't rightfully their mate, it would be considered a sin.

My mind ran through this information. Yes, my Mother and Father had a prophecy but if both of them came together as one it should have been legal for them. No, there had to be more to this. I was getting the short end of the stick, it didn't make sense.

Deciding it was time to talk to my Mother, I closed my eyes and opened them again. The normal palace-like setting was empty though. I stood up and walked around, my Moon Goddess outfit slowly dragging behind me on the marble floor.

"Mother?" I called. I heard soft sounds of weeping behind the sofa in the corner and looked behind it. The Second Moon was crying, her hair in a bun and she was wearing a simple dress, not like the usual extravagant one she wore. She looked up at me and wiped her tears away, sniffling.

"I-I didn't hear you." Mother said, tucking a white strand of hair behind her ear.

Without responding, I sat next to her on the floor, leaning against the back of the sofa. "What happened?"

She sighed. "I just have a feeling that the execution is inevitable. Then, I thought about you, my baby girl, and the memories of a past that you didn't, and won't ever, get to experience with him, and everything just bubbled up and poured over."

"Mother, I looked into it more. I know there are no 'exceptions' with god laws but it just doesn't add up. You two should have been fine mating if there was no future. It wouldn't have been a sin. You just created your own prophecy. Is there something else I should know?"

The goddess chuckled. "Maybe? Not that I know of. Zeus had always something against him, but he never told me, nor did my egoistical cousin. Zeus may be a king but he doesn't act in the kind way one should."

Biting my lip, I pondered on how we would go about this. Suddenly, the craziest, extremely illegal idea, popped into my head. "I'm going to see him."

She looked at me weird. "Zeus? He'd be happy to see you I suppose..."

"No! My father."

Her eyes grew wide and she turned her body to look at me, shaking her hands. "No, no, no Meridin Ophelia, that is not a good idea."

"Shouldn't it be fine for a goddess to see a prisoner? I may not be full-fledged, but, the only way I can get the full story to free the man is to see the man himself."

Mother sighed loudly. "There's no way I can stop you, is there? Fine, then I'll give you the keys to the prison." She stood up and started to walk towards a door.

Shocked, I followed her. "What? B-but, how? Did you go see him?"

She shook her head and took one of the many sets of keys down from a hook. "No...I wasn't allowed to. Any god is allowed all the keys." She handed me the gold-lined opener.

Taking them, my heart started to beat fast. This would be the first time I would meet him. "Wait...how would I know he's my father?"

"You'll know. His green eyes are always happy and his curls are always messy. Just like you." Smiling, she snapped her fingers and I appeared at the entrance of a really pretty prison.

Scratch that, it wasn't pretty. It was beautiful. The pillars were made of golden clouds and wrapped with vines with a huge sign labeled 'The Prison.' I slowly walked in. There were no guards or anything. They must be pretty proud of their security system then if it didn't need people to watch the prisoners. I walked on the cloud halls, my eyes darting back and forth. Clearly, no one paid attention to me. There were men and women dressed finely in their cells doing who knows what. Well, they were gods. They were supposed to be treated like them.

I almost walked by another cell, but a pull made me stop and look in the bars. A man was on the far wall, sitting on the floor, just looking down at the ground. His long curly blond covered his face, which hid a lot of his features. I walked over and put my hands around the bars but cursed when they burned me.

"Careful. They're magic laced, didn't you know that?" He grunted, lowly.

"What's your name?" I asked, without thinking.

The man groaned and stood up walking to me and now was in complete view. The pull never lies. Mother was right; it was like looking in a mirror. His hair was long, almost to his defined cheekbones. Stubble dotted his lower face but it made him handsome. What took me in was his eyes. Despite his 'intimidating' appearance, there was still a sense of happiness in his jade eyes.

"It's Alec. Why? Who are you?" He ran his hand through his hair.

Oh, right, I didn't have my crown on. "My name is Mallory. Born on September 17th, 2001. I am 20 years old. Sent down to earth at one year old, turned to half-werewolf, found who I was this year. My mother retired from her position as the main goddess and now I am the Moon Goddess. You might better know me as Meridin Ophelia Delia Larissa, First Moon of the Night."

Once I ended my life story, Alec blinked, trying to suck up what he just heard. "Meridin...you're, really Meridin? Oh, my Goddess ...." He put his hands on the bars, completely ignoring the pain as he tried to get as close as he could to me.

I smiled, tears coming to my eyes. My father realized who I was. He seemed to be happy. I laughed and touched both of his hands and took them off the metal so he wouldn't hurt himself any longer. "Father--Daddy, I really missed you," I whispered.

"I missed you too baby, I can't believe..you look just like me! I only saw you when you were in Selene's belly...you actually popped out? You're an adult?" Alec laughed as he cried, trying to grasp the information.

"Yep, I'm an adult. Dad, I'm going to get you out of this situation. Locking you up for 22 years is wrong. I searched, trying to understand if there was something wrong against you and Mother mating, but there isn't. Is there another reason why they're keeping you here?"

Alec sat on the floor in front of me, not responding for a minute or two. "I can't believe you searched for me and Selene...you're right, there isn't. Basically, I saw some things that I wasn't supposed to see that Zeus was doing. He wanted to keep me silent. No other god will speak against the king. I told your Mother not to. I wanted her and you to be safe."

"That's why no one approved...he wanted you to look bad so he came up with a reason to imprison you. That bastard!" I narrowed my eyes, hatred bubbling up inside me.

His eyes widened. "No, Meridin, you can't do anything about it. You'll get destroyed as a goddess."

Smirking, I put a hand on my hip. "I'm the only Moon Goddess. Once a god retires her position all powers are taken from her. Once I'm mated...I'll be full-fledged. I'll be back Father, you won't be dead on my watch. Not. Ever." I promised.
