We were all sitting at the kitchen table, West, Isla, Jen, Daniel, Dion, and myself. Jen was going on and on about how adorable the two were, which I could agree with. Isla kept interrupting as well.

"The way Quinn looked at her!! It was a match made! That bastard was definitely not for her, Quinn is for sure. He's hot, he's kind, and he'll treat her like a diamond!" Jen said, squealing.

"Wait, hot? I'm hot too." Daniel said, looking at her.

The Beta shrugged. "Of course you are honey, I'm just saying that the characteristics are perfect for Lacey. She deserves a guy like him."

Isla sighed, dreamily. "Lacey looked as though he, himself, was a god. She was so confused by the kind way he was treating her but she adores him, I know it. And the height difference! I love height differences between a girl and a boy, don't you?"

Jennalyn nodded. "Oh yeah, definitely. It was so cute the way she had to stand up tall to even reach his neck. Even he had to bend down a lot."

West crossed his arms, annoyed. "We have a height difference, Isla. You're still pretty short."

She huffed. "No, we're not that far. I'm only a couple of inches shorter. It's not much."

Dion looked at me, amazed. "I cannot believe what a relationship you made. That's amazing, Agapiménos. You learned so much."

I smiled, tucking a blonde curl behind my ear. "I only learned it from Her. It's nothing special."

"Still, in a short time though. I think that's awesome. You're a wonderful learner just as you are wonderfully beautiful." He kissed my forehead, making me gleam.

"I'm glad my Beta found a suitable partner. It was about time. He'll need someone to take over his position." West said, taking a clementine out of the fruit bowl and peeling it.

We all murmured a yes in agreement. I sighed and put my cheek in my head. "Daniel, have you worked on the mask?"

Daniel nodded. "It takes time. It's hard for me to figure out the logistics. But out of the humongous library, how do you expect to find the ancient texts? Though it's rare a deity would have touched them, it would still be hard to find justice."

"I need to try. If my father dies without me even getting to know him..." My hand went up to my heart, clutching my shirt. "It will hurt. Knowing that he's still alive is a blessing enough."

A knock sounded on the cabin door. Isla went off her seat and opened it, surprised. Lacey and Quinn were standing there, Lacey holding a bag. "Oh, wow. I'm surprised you're here. I thought you were doing--" She glanced at Quinn, "Other things.." She opened the door wider to let them come through.

The girl walked up to me, smiling. "Moon Goddess, I have something for you."

My hands went up and I laughed. "No, it's just Mallory. Or Mal. Whatever you prefer. But what is it?"

She rummaged in her shoulder bag then pulled out three thick books. "When you went out on your break, Alpha Isla already told me about you being a Goddess. That's why I wasn't surprised if you were wondering. Anyway, I had dropped this in the forest because I had a sense that the South Pack was coming for me. These were treasures my goneís, my parents, left me before they had died. They don't do me any good so I was wondering if you would like to have them. They have everything from the origins of the gods to the types and anything you could think of."

"Everything..." I whispered, taking the stack and running my hands over the velvet cover of the top of the book. "Do they even have laws?" I hesitantly asked, keeping my hopes extremely low.

Lacey nodded, making my heart leap. "Yes, I think so. It's in this second one. I read all of them in my free time, but it does not make much sense to me. Hopefully, they will to you."

Putting the books on the table, I hugged her. "Thank you, thank you so much. You will have no idea how much this will help me. I'll return them once I'm finished."

"No, please, keep them. I heard you have a library for the pups. Put it in there. I would rather have it be read than to keep it lying around for no reason." She responded, holding my hands.

It was as if she was led here for a reason. Giggling and hugging her again, I raced out, the books clutched to my chest. This was it. First, I would read the book about the law and justice of imprisoning a god. Then, to make sure this was real, I would take Daniel's invention and check to see if it was written by one as well.

"Babe..." I could hear Dion's voice in the midst of my drowsy state. "Sweet Moon, go lie down in a real bed." His hand ran down my hair, stroking my curls. I blinked, trying to blink the sleepiness away. I lifted up my head from the open pages of the thick book. Frick, I had only gotten through the first chapter before I fell asleep.

The lights were out in my room and only the little lamp next to me was turned on. Dion's large form was near me as his blue eyes glowed in the dark. "Mmm...what time is it?" I asked, stretching my arms.

He looked at his phone, then back at me. "Ten thirty. Look, you can read as much as you want. You need to sleep though. Come on." He put his hands under my arms and lifted me up. We started to walk towards my bed, mostly Dion supporting me. He lay me down and climbed in next to me on my Queen sized bed. I rolled to my side and looked at him, lifting up my hand and playing with his black and blue hair.

"I love you," I whispered to him.

Dion stiffened a bit then a big smile rose on his face and he put his hand over his eyes, chuckling. "Dang, Mallory, I was wondering what else I would have to do to get you to say those three words."

I giggled. "I know, I should have said it earlier. But, the last time I said it to a guy, he threw it away, those months of a one-sided relationship." I frowned.

He frowned as well then pulled me into his chest, making me 'oomph' in response. "Agapiménos, I promise, that will never happen again. Because, baby, you have no idea how much I want to mark you."

I wiggled away, looking up at him. "How do you mark someone when you're a god?"

Dion smirked, "I think I like it better than the werewolves' way. First..." He ducked down, kissing my neck. I froze. "You actually do the second step of the werewolf mating process, first."

Blushing, my eyes rose to the ceiling as he continued to conquer my neck. He suddenly stopped and looked up at me. "There are three special candles you need. We light the two separately and light the third one together. After that, I will mark you."

Dion pulled my sleeve down a bit and kissed the top of my arm, just below my shoulder where he silently promised the place he would put it. "We can do the first part privately. The other two though, we'll need some people. It's just like a human wedding. It won't be 'legal.'"

It sounded like a dream. Yep, this sounded way better than a werewolf mating process. It would be more like a human wedding but combined with our original way. "A day after tomorrow," I whispered. "Because if the thing with my father doesn't work out...I don't want to be sad. You're my mate and I want it to be the happiest day ever. I'll ask my Mother for the candles tomorrow."

His eyes widened. "Really? Y-you want to? That soon?" He sounded stunned.

I nodded and Dion grinned, hugging my waist as he buried his face into my chest. I laughed and smiled down at him, running my fingers through his thick hair. Dion was my mate and I loved him with all my heart. In the beginning, I was confused since I had a fake mate but Clove was showing me how special he was. Kissing the top of his head, I closed my eyes and fell into a blissful sleep.

I think Dion is my favorite for sure
