As soon as we left the prison surroundings, Dad's outfit completely changed. However, since he wasn't an official god he didn't have something like ours. His blonde hair was swept to the side and he had on a white robe with a golden belt. The same color shimmery headband was placed across his forehead.

I held both of their hands and we transported in front of the Alphas' cabin. He held on to my shoulder to stabilize himself. Of course, Father hadn't been out in twenty years, this would be a bit new for him.

"Wow, where is this?" He asked, looking around as we walked outside.

"This is the Alphas' home. Alpha West will be helping us, Dad." I said, leading him downstairs.

The whole council was waiting there. Quinn and Lacey had their fingers intertwined and she smiled at me happily, her face aglow. Yep, she definitely got marked. Isla came forward and hugged my dad.

Alec blinked in surprise. She pulled back, laughing slightly. "We were worried about you. My name is Isla Starr. Thank you so much for making Mallory...well, Mallory."

"Well, hopefully now I'll be able to see what she's like." He answered, laughing with her.

"A perfectly good girl!" I chimed in.

West came and stuck out his hand. "I'm West."

"Ah, so you're the man that'll be doing the dark work. Don't worry, I supported the magic when it was used for good." Father said, shaking it.

The Alpha chuckled. "Let's see what we can do for you." He waved him to a stool next to the mysterious liquids. He dipped his fingers in the purple bottle and slowly pressed the tips onto Dad's forehead, both of the men closing their eyes. Dad went slack making my eyes widen with worry.

"Don't worry, Mal. West said that he's just going back into his memory. It'll take a bit since he's going back twenty years before. He explained the process to me because I wanted to make sure it didn't do anything." Isla said, putting a hand on my shoulder.

An hour ticked by. I imitated the grandfather clock in the corner, leaning my cheek on my hand to calm myself down from not going crazy. Groaning, Dion turned to look at me. "Babe, I know you don't like waiting but please, for the sake of everyone, maybe stop doing that."

"This is insane, I should just wake him up," I said, standing up.

Jennalyn, who hadn't said anything for a while, put both of her hands on my shoulders. "Mallory, then what are you going to do? Have your father run for your life? You're dealing with gods. They know where you are and can just pluck you right off the face of the earth."

Daniel nodded, wiping the lens of his black-rimmed glasses. "She's right. Alpha knows what he's doing. Have faith in him." He said, momentarily stopping from typing on his computer.

I took a deep breath and nodded. Honestly, I think my short lack of patience definitely did not come from either of my parents. I needed to stay calm.

Suddenly, West opened his eyes and removed his fingertips from Dad's forehead. In his hands was a purple glowing sphere, with something inside it moving. ¨Here. The memory. He'll wake up soon, but put this in your bag and immediately go back.¨

I nodded and held the precious object in my hands. It felt like glass and I grabbed a thick piece of cloth and nestled it in it. We looked back at Dad and slowly he was moving slightly. His eyelashes fluttered open and he groaned.

"Why does it feel like my head's been smashed in a concrete wall?"

"It'll feel like that. Go." Isla said, scurrying us along.
