After retrieving the candles from Mother, who was extremely excited, I woke up back in our bedroom. Dion had disappeared but before he had told me he wanted to do the ceremony tonight.
"You're back in your actual world, Mal." Clove laughed. "Your friends have been trying to contact you for a while."
A flurry of knocks came at the door and I hopped up to open it, greeted by the faces of Isla, Jen, and Lacey. They barged in, Lacey with a black dressing bag.
"Woah, guys, sorry, I was trying to get some stuff to do the mating ceremony. That's why I didn't answer--what are you doing?" I said, as I watched them turn on my vanity mirror lights and Jen placed a bunch of makeup stuff on the table.
They turned to look at me, mischievous smiles on their faces. "This is our first time doing a wedding," Isla explained.
"Well, it's not actually a wedding..." I trailed off.
"--And we wanted you to look gorgeous! It'll knock Dion's socks off." Jen smirked.
"They asked me to find an outfit for you. The human town has a good variety..." Lacey commented in her quiet voice.
"I was actually just going to get a nice shirt and pants. Isla, you know what I'm saying right?" I said, backing up to the wall as the girls started to come closer. I knew she had a similar casual sense of style.
My Alpha shrugged and grabbed my wrist. "I can't believe I'm saying this but for the first time, I want to have an actual wedding. Do this for yourself. You won't get this chance again."
Without me responding, they dragged me to the chair and sat me down. Different creams and powder were being set on my face, lipsticks flying, eyeshadows thrown on the table. They kept bickering on which colors would suit me best.
When I opened my eyes again, I gasped, not in disgust, but in shock. I felt like a million bucks. I had a ruby red lipstick that accented my green eyes. My usual unruly blonde curls were now straightened that fell down just below my shoulders. They placed a white flower crown on my head too, which I immediately loved.
Lacey opened the bag and a beautiful white dress was placed on my body. The top part of my shoulders was shown and so were my mid-arms. The sheer fabric hung down but flowed whenever I moved. It had a sweetheart neckline and a golden belt was tied around my waist. Pearly heels were added to match.
"You look stunning. Wow, Lace, that gown is top-notch." Isla said, inspecting the whole look.
"I've had practice..." The girl responded.
"Well, you ready to go Mal?" Jen asked, holding out her arm to me. "I'm not your dad but.."
Giggling, I nodded, hooking mine with hers as we walked out to the chilly night sky. We walked towards the clearing and I sighed at the sight taken in. A couple of chairs were set up in front of the normal wooden stage and a little table was in front with the mating candle. Fairy lights were strung in between the branches and white petals were thrown in the aisle. It was so beautiful.
West, Rainalda, Olivia, Mila, Chase, and even Ariella, who I assumed came just in time were seated. Dion was in a suit and tie and looked extremely uncomfortable. I laughed out loud as we walked down the aisle and he smiled-glared at me; the man knew what I was finding so funny.
Two candles were handed to us, one to each person. We struck a match and lit the little wick. Dion and I held hands as we lit the third candle. I felt something spark in me. He turned to me and took a deep breath.
