Volume 3 - Chapter 4: Battle of Soul

Inside the Amity-arena, more accurately, on the way to the battle, Y/n was currently busy taking in everything Ozpin told him.

You accepted the request from Ozpin, joining his cause. He told you everything you needed to do, which was literally to wait.

Pyrrha was to become the new maiden, however, if the worst came to happen, and the maiden died, Ozpin would talk to you about your 'magic'.

He said that it would be the best if you wouldn't be in on it now.

The only problem was Ironwood. He wasn't sure about you. It's not that he doesn't trust you, it's more because of you being a child.

Unlike Pyrrha, he never saw you fight. He doesn't know if you're strong enough, so that's why you're here.

You saw Sol entering the arena on the opposite side.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the first match of the one-on-one battles!" Professor Port's voice boomed through the arena.

"Yes yes, we are all excited. However, before the actual one-on-one begins, we'll be having a 'mock-battle'." Oobleck continued.

"That is true Morty! Today, we'll be having two of beacons top students fighting each other!" The crowd started to yell louder.

"First: The leader of team NVRM! He is the next in line to lead 'Noctur-enterprise'! SOL NOCTUR!" The Crowd roared at his name. You didn't know if it was because he was supposed to be famous, or because they're hyped.

Sol started waving at the crowd with a smug look plastered on his face.

"Next! He is the one-man team of beacon! The enigma that raced through villages! Y/N L/N!" Out of all the people cheering, Ruby's was probably the loudest. You could literally hear her screaming.

"KICK HIS BUTT Y/N!" Ruby waved drastically, trying to get your attention.

Weiss gave a glare at her leader. "Send him flying Sol!"

Sol directed his attention to you. "Ready to lose?"

"Why so cocky? Have you forgotten the beatdown I gave you back in the courtyard?"

"Pah. I was holding back then. I didn't want to hurt bystanders. You don't stand a sliver of a chance. I'll grind you to powder!"

READY...

FIGHT!!!

When the go was given, Sol jumped at you.

You rolled to the side and summoned the Kamui.

You jumped back again to gain some distance. You grabbed the hilt of the kamui and waited for another attack.

He immediately followed and went with an jump slash. You shot your kamui out of its hilt and clashed.

He was in the air, trying to overpower you. You slid back a bit, letting his sword crash into the ground again, stunning him.

You tried to give him a left hook, but he redirected it and kneed you in your stomach. He followed it up with an elbow to the back of your neck.

He then tried to sweep your legs, failing in the process. You stood your ground, countering.

You grabbed his neck and dashed into the air with your semblance.

Once again, you let go off him mid-air. Instead of you pummeling him however, he kicked you away from him.

You both fell down. You used Hugo's semblance to land safely on the ground.
