Chapter 45

Compress got a call from Toga one morning. Then we all scrambled to a truck and started to drive along the highway. I sat in the back of the truck with Compress and Dabi while Spinner was driving. Shigaraki stood on top of the truck. We were going to get our revenge. 

The back doors of the truck opened. 

"In shogi, the point is to get the king, right?" Shigaraki asks. 

"It's not that simple," Dabi says. 

"Yeah, they are here, just like you said!" Compress said while talking on the phone. "To get from the Hassaikai to the nearest villain hospital, it's fastest to use the highway. Thanks for letting us know. Toga you're so efficient. I'm much obliged." 

"Jins the one who told me to call," Toga said over the phone. "I was too busy watching Izuku. In fact, I'm sorry for making you get your hands dirty." 

"I only have one hand, though." 

"We couldn't get the girl who is the crux of their plans, but we think the finished products are where you are."

Dabi started yelling at Spinner, as usual. "Hey, lizard! Stop weaving! I get motion sickness!" 

"Don't call me 'lizard'! I'm Spinner!" 

"What are you getting mad for? Shut up!" 

"Is attacking the police really following the will of Stain who wanted a true hero society?" Spinner grumbled loud enough for all of us to hear. "I'm not sure about that!" 

"It's a necessary sacrifice, Spinner," Shigaraki says. He must be really good a car surfing if he can just ride the top of this truck. "I'm counting on you to drive." 

"Now," Dabi says as he raised his hand. 

Blue flames come out of his palm. He sends a blast of blue flames towards the cop car and the truck. They get blocked by something. More like someone. A pro hero. Of course, they have a pro hero with them. 

"The League of Villains!" The pro hero shouts towards us. "A gang of evil spirits with a grudge against society!" 

"A hero! Of course, there'd be one! Ugh!" Shigaraki whines. "Spinner, slow down!" 

The truck slows down and Shigaraki jumps off the roof of it. He lands on top of the cop car. The hero snatches Shigaraki with his weird sand Quirk. Shigaraki is left immobilized. 

"He's famous, huh?" Dabi asks. 

"Shigaraki is the misdirection, in other words, a decoy," Compress said. He sent one his marbles under the police car and a huge boulder appears. This sends the cop car flipping over onto its back and Shigaraki free from the villain's grasp. 

The two other villains hop out of the car. I fly out of the car and towards the truck that supposedly held Overhaul. Shigaraki smashes the window of the car and tried to make the driver stop. The truck swerves and eventually lands on the side. I open the back doors of the truck. Two police were standing inside. One was knocked out by the impact the truck took. 

"Sorry," I mumbled to the other. I send a blast of white flames towards the awakened policeman. His body disintegrates into nothing. I take the two boxes that they were holding on to. 

Overhaul is lying down pathetically on a mattress. He's strapped down with a couple of black belts and his arms are bound together with Quirk restraints. I drag the mattress out of the truck. Shigaraki lands beside me. I kick the mattress away from the truck. 

"Hey, whore here!" I wave my hand at the yakuza leader. 

"Who's going to be the next leader, again?" Shigaraki mumbled to Overhaul.
