Fire in Her Eyes (Bakugo x OC)

Chapter 10

I tie my jacket around my waist as I float up hire towards the roof. I make my way to the front of line. 'This'll be so easy' I thought. I hear some people say that I was cheating. I don't really care, 'cause technically I'm not. 

After Midnight yells start, everyone starts shoving each other out of the way. I simply fly right past them. Todoroki manages to freeze most of the people in the tunnel. He looks up at me and sends a huge blast of ice towards me. I block it with my fire from my hand and I start increasing my speed. Bakugo, Kirishima and Momo are all ganging up on Todoroki and I. I look back and I see a huge robot come out of nowhere. Oh no, are we going to have to defeat these? Ugh, I'm too lazy for that. One of the robots go right in front of me and I just barely touch it before it disintegrates into nothing. Nice one. 

Two more robots go in front of me and simply disintegrate them while flying away. I guess I'm in the lead. 

"It looks like Akira Tatsuma from class 1-A is in the lead, she's one of the students that got in through recommendations." I hear Present Mic say. I didn't want people to know that. I feel like I cheated getting in through recommendations. 

I fly over what looks like a canyon but with stepping areas scattered across. Seriously? This is way too easy. I'm barely getting a scratch on me. I can now see the finish line from where I'm at. 

"Akira Tatsuma is still in the lead. The finish line is right ahead of her." Something about this doesn't feel right, maybe I should stay back and wait for someone else to take first place. I land a little ways before the tunnel and I wait. From the distance I can hear loud explosions and Bakugo's distinguishable voice. I see a small speck in the sky suddenly get closer and closer. I realize, wait! Is that Midoriya? That is so cool! Him, Todoroki, and Bakugo are neck and neck and I run with them to the finish line. 

Midoriya is first in the stadium, then me, then Todoroki and then Bakugo. Everyone else gathers in the stadium. Bakugo is practically exploding in his spot. He glances up at me and I tap my finger to my head a couple times. 

"The top 42 people that made it will proceed to the next round," Midnight announces. "We've prepared other chances for you to shine, the real competition begins next!" 

A screen comes down again to announce out next challenge. Bet this is gonna be worse than the last one. I might have to work with people this way. 

"Now then, here is the second game. I already know what it is, but what could it be? What could it be?" Midnight says. "Now here it is." 

The screen stops scrolling and what my worst nightmare was, just came fucking true. A cavalry battle. God dammit, I have to work with people? Ugh, I hate people. Wow I sound so DiFfErEnT. 

Midnight starts again. "The participants can form teams of two to four people as they wish. It's basically the same as a regular cavalry battle...but the one thing that is different is based on the results of the last challenge." She gives us all a small smirk, especially all the people at the top. "each person has been assigned a point value." Oh wait, thank god I'm not in first place because that means each team is worth differently based on who's on it. "Who ever is in first place is worth ten million points!" 

Its a survival of the fittest, that means whoever is one top can be taken down by whoever is on the bottom. Oh my god, I'm gonna die! Midoriya is already dead! This sucks. I stopped listening though. But I did hear when she said that we have to have headbands and pull them off of people and that's how you get points. Which is easy enough. 

Everyone starts pairing up with other people. I watch as Bakugo already gets his team ready and so does Midoriya and Todoroki. Oh man, this is going to suck. 

"Hey, do you want to be on my team?" A voice speaks behind me. I turn around and I get a good look at him. He has purple hair and purple eyes and looks kind of tired. He reaches out his hand for me to shake it. "I'm Hitoshi Shinso."

"Cool, I'm Akira Tatsuma." I gladly shake his hand. 

"So, do you want to be on my team?" He asks again. 

"Sure..." My mind goes blank. Oh my god? What is happening? Is this his quirk? He starts directing me everywhere I go. Soon the challenge starts. Okay well I'm on his team now, so that's fun. Eventually my mind goes completely blank. I can't hear anything, see anything, or do anything. I can feel myself moving and there is a voice in my head telling me to do things and my body is just going along with it. I start panicking and freaking out. This can't be good. 

At the last second before the challenge ends, I snap out of the mindless gaze and I'm met with reality. There is 20 seconds on the clock. I see one of the other teams and they have a lot bands around their neck. I grab one and I hold on to it as tight as I can. At least I helped a little bit. 

"Five"

"Four"

"Three"

"Two"

"One" 

"Times Up!" 

"In first place Todoroki's team, in second Bakugo's, in third Shinso's..." That's all I needed to hear. At least we were in the top five. I look over at Shinso. 

"So, what is your quirk?" I ask him. I give him a small smile. 

"Brainwashing and how are you okay with this?" He asks again. 

"You seem nice, a little full of yourself, but nice and I think it's a cool quirk!" I exclaim. Even though he brainwashed me, I was still happy that I was part of the team. "Next time you do that though, ask me if you can use your quirk first." 

"Okay, I'll see you around" He flashes me small smile and walks over to his friends. 

I turn around I see Bakugo screaming at the floor. Oh god. I never knew that the gremlin could look more like a gremlin. 

"In fourth place, Midoriya's team!" Present Mic screams into the microphone. "These four teams will advance to the final round!" Midoriya is literally crying at hearing that, which is sort of hilarious. "Now we will take an hour break for lunch!" 

I think the next challenge is going to be where we fight one-on-one. This'll be fun. I can finally show off my quirk. 

I've been working on a move that is great for combat. 

I think it'll blow the competition away.
