Fire in Her Eyes (Bakugo x OC)

Chapter 48

I woke up early that morning. I ate a bigger breakfast this morning. I got dressed and put on my sweatpants and a halter top. I put on my belt and loaded my gun. I turned on the TV to see that they were announcing the top ten heroes of this year. Endeavor was first, Hawks, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, Mirko, Crust, Kamui Woods, Wash (who I have no idea how he got on there like he's a washing machine???), Yoroi Musha, and finally my sister Ryukyu. 

I was proud that my sister made it up there, I wish I was there to congratulate her but I can't. Instead, I'll give her moral support from afar. 

Dabi walks into the room. He seems like he's in a good mood. I packed some snacks and stuffed them into my gloves. 

"You ready?" He asks. 

"Definitely!" I excitedly announce. I was excited to see the whole thing go down. I haven't been out in public in a really long time and this might be my only chance. 

At around noon, we started our descent to the place that we were keeping the Nomu, I learned later that we called it 'Hood'. Which I thought was a cool name, I suggested that we change his name to like 'whisker' or 'snowball'. I got a chuckle out of some of my fellow league members. 

We both got warped to the building. Dabi opened the door and we both walked inside. It was dark and the Nomu's yellow eyes were the only thing illuminating the room. It turned to look at us. 

"The ones before didn't really understand," Dabi started. "but I've got high hopes for you, High-End." 

"Go get 'em, tiger!" I encourage. 

We left the room with Hood following us. Then we gave it an address and who to attack. Then we warped ourselves away. We both got warped to a random alley that was near the address that we were going to. I took out the granola bar that I packed and started to eat. I threw one towards Dabi, he said thank you before opening the package. 

"So when is this thing going to happen?" I ask. Just as I said that I heard a loud explosion and the sound of screaming come from one of the buildings. 

"Now," Dabi responds. We ducked behind a dumpster in hopes that we won't get found by the evacuees and heroes that were helping with the evacuees. 

I finished my granola bar and threw it away in the dumpster. I yawned and started to stare at the wall. I could hear children crying and helicopters swarming around the scene. A couple of heroes ran by the alleyway and shouted at everyone to evacuate. I heard people talking about Endeavor. Endeavor? 

"Why is Endeavor here?" I ask. 

"I don't know, Hawks probably decided to be an ass and bring the top guy here," Dabi mumbled from beside me. "Although, we were supposed to meet somewhere else." 

"Yeah, but, it's like a pop quiz," I said. "You don't when its coming and either prepared or not." 

"Are you comparing this whole situation to a pop quiz?" He asks. Screaming and crashes were heard. The sound of glass shattering followed. I could hear news reporters talking about the situation. 

"Exactly," I said. I took out my phone and looked up a live broadcast of what was going on. I turned the phone so that Dabi could see. 

The woman broadcasting was screaming into the mic. She's talking about how weak he is and how that he can't compare to All Might. Which she then gets screamed at by a boy with pink hair and strangely looks like Natsu from Fairytail. 

More blasts were heard. I could hear glass shattering and more people screaming. It was getting a little overwhelming. I felt bad. Honestly, I still feel like a hero at heart and this whole situation isn't helping. I just want to go out there and help them in any way I can. But alas I can't.
