"Ugh, it's killing me that I can't take you out for Valentine's Day," Bucky groaned.

A small smile on my face, I crept through the living space towards my room, my phone held to my ear. "I wish you could but I can't make the trip without raising suspicion."

Bucky let out another grunt. "Stupid Hydra."

I laughed. "I know but we'll see each other soon. I promise."

Little did Bucky know, in a secret drawer in my dresser sat a plane ticket. My real Christmas present from Steve. My freebie to see Bucky.

My hair dripped on the floor but my cloud made it evaporate. Wanda and I had been swimming in the pool but Bucky called me after reading my letter that morning.

I had written that I wished I could hear his voice and now my wish was coming true.

Drying off with a fluffy yellow towel from the pool deck, I slid into a pair of sweats and a t-shirt. The trek from the pool to the living quarters was freezing and my hair was little ice crystals in it from the frigid February air.

"Buck, another call is coming; I've gotta go."

"I miss you!" He joke yelled through the phone as he hung up.

I giggled and accepted the new call. "Hello?"

"Li Anne? It's Xander."

Xander?

"Yeah, hey. What's up?"

He cleared his throat. "I wanted to ask you something. Do you have right now?"

"Sure."

What could he possibly want to ask me?

"I love GiGi more than anything and I know that we wouldn't have stayed together unless we were meant to be."

Wait. Was he...

"So I wanted to ask for your permission to ask G to marry me."

I dropped my hairbrush. It clattered onto the grey tile floor, looking up at me innocently.

"Uh, yes. Yes! Do it." I said after a long pause.

He breathed deeply into the phone. "Thank you. Now that I have your blessing, I have to ask Clint."

A laugh escaped my throat. "I wish you luck."

"Thanks, I'll need it."

If Clint agreed, the grand plan was this:

I would invite GiGi to come hang out with me for the Valentines Day weekend. Xander would propose here and the Bartons would be able to sneak in to see it.

Steve agreed to let the extra people stay after I explained the situation and Tony made plans to fly out to hang out with us. Pepper had decided to stay behind.

The day GiGi arrived, we went shopping in the city with Wanda and Nat, swam in the pool with Steve and Sam, and then made dinner for ourselves. Xander was proposing the next night and I was secretly working on the setting for him to do it.

There was going to be an old school dance on Valentines Night for all of us Avengers. I hung string lights over the 20x20 pergola and Vision helped me set up tables for punch and snacks. The speakers were in the corners, next to the decorative heaters that lined the outside to keep the air warm so the ladies could wear short sleeves.

Clint and Laura had snuck in when G was in the shower with Xander, keeping to their own room until it was time.

Nat sent G out to the pergola with a bag of cups right on time to see Xander standing in the middle of the dance scene.
