Danny was asleep in my arms when we portaled back home. The smell of the lasagna I left for the group on our couch filled the air and made my mouth water.

Steve, Sam, and Nat were laying on our two couches, half asleep.

"We're home," I whispered to Sam and watched him sit up and stretch.

Natasha stirred from her spot under Steve's right arm, an amorous position that made Bucky nudge me. Steve gave a light snore and Bucky went over to wake him.

Sam rubbed his eyes and looked up at me. "Oh, hey, Annie."

I smiled my greeting and went to put Danny in his infant swing while I plated up the lasagna, salad, green beans, and apple slices.

Natasha came to join me but I hugged her before she could do anything. "I'm so glad your here."

"Me too," she gripped me tightly. "I can't believe you have a kid now."

"I have trouble believing it sometimes."

Bucky had successfully woken up the sleeping bear and they were laughing like the best friends they always had been. I noticed that Bucky was intentionally trying to bring Sam into the conversation. That made me happy.

"Oh my god!" Sam yelled and we all rushed over to where he was standing. "This kid looks just like you!"

Danny had his fingers in his mouth and was looking up at Sam with a look of sleepy curiosity.

Natasha burst into tears and I held her close as she watched Bucky pick up Danny and hold him to everyone could see him. I had never seen Nat cry before.

Steve'a voice was thick when he said, "He's perfect."

Bucky handed our son to Sam, who couldn't take his eyes off the baby. I gave them all of the birth details and then encouraged the nomads to eat.

In the end, the entire lasagna was eaten and all everyone wanted to do was sit on the couches with large mugs of tea and talk. We eventually watch a couple Christmas movies, Danny was asleep on Steve's lap, his tiny infant snores melting my heart.

Natasha asked about our plans for the future and we told her about our plans to stay in Wakanda for the time being until Danny was old enough to move somewhere else. Sam wondered where we would live; Bucky said probably New York or somewhere where Danny wouldn't have to be Lady Lavender's son or the Winter Soldier's kid.

"I want to be here for him. We all do." Steve said. "Danny's the first Avenger kid there is. And he's my best friend's son. Nat, you're Annie's mentor. Sam, you're so close to all of us, you've always had our backs. We all want to be close to Danny, especially when he grows up."

"Yeah," Nat gently stroked Danny's soft head. "He's the one normal thing in our lives. He's our friend's son. And I want to be close to him."

"Annie, the first time I saw you, you were kicking Bucky's ass and then got captured. And now you're married to him with a kid. I'm kind of addicted to this story now." Sam laughed and Bucky grinned at him.

It was all I needed that day. The assurance from the important people in my life that they were there for me, my husband, and my son.

"Do you think they're sleeping?" Bucky asked, nudging my bare arm with his beard scruff.

I rolled over in bed, the sheets soothing my freshly shaved legs. "I don't know. They're right outside on the couches."

"But you could sound-proof the room," Bucky rubbed my thigh and looked over at me in the dark. "Come on, please?"

I grinned as I ducked under the covers.

"Are you playing hard to get now, Li Anne?" He joined me under the blankets.

Trying not to laugh, I scrunched up into a ball while around the walls of our room, a thin purple cloud floated near the edges.

Bucky pulled me up towards him, angling my face upward for a kiss. I kissed him back, leaning on his chest, pulling off his shirt. He responded by removing mine.

I was right where I wanted to be. My heart couldn't have been fuller.
