Chapter 21

HINDI naiwasan ni Ray si Shannon na tumalon mula sa swing at pabalyang yumakap sa kanya. 

"Hey, what are you doing?" Nakangiting kinarga niya ang dalagita at ibinalik sa swing. "I thought you go with Athrun."

"I asked him if I can come but he told me to stay here." Sumimangot ito.

Tumango siya at inugoy ang swing.

"Ray, I think Papa's mad at me." Himutok ng dalagita.

"Mad at you? What makes you say that?"

"He never talked to me since we arrived yesterday."

"He's just too busy. Athrun doesn't talk to you either even if he had ample free time."

"It's different. Athrun is sick and he needs rest."

"But it doesn't mean he can't talk. Why would you want to talk to Papa, anyway?" He pinched her pretty upturned nose.

She giggled. "I would like to ask him that I 'll stay here with Athrun."

"You do have the guts to tell me you wanted to be with him than going back with me to America? Hindi ko alam na ayaw mo na pala akong makasama." Pangongonsensya niya rito.

"No! It's nothing like that. Athrun asked me to stay. He said he needs me, that he was lonely because I'm not around. I don't want him to get sad."

"Malulungkot din ako kung hindi kita kasama. Maraming kaibigan si Athrun dito, hindi siya mag-iisa. Hindi katulad ko roon sa states. Hindi ka ba maaawa at mag-aalala sa akin?" Nawalan ng imik si Shannon. Sinilip ito ni Ray at pinisil ang matangos na ilong. "You are my precious little girl. I'll be lonely without you."

"But what about Athrun?"

"He'll be fine."

"Really?"

"Exactly real."

"Can I go somewhere with Leih and the others?" Lumingon ito sa kanya at ngumiti.

"Leih? One of Athrun's friends?"

"Yeah, Leih and Kreed and Rajive and Raynd and Mikael and everyone else! We've played badminton and tennis yesterday. And Leih, he is very good in arts. He told me he'll make a sketch of me later. And Rajive, he is very good at computers. Each one of them is so nice to me especially those handsome guys like you."

Handsome guys like him? She must be referring to the big ones. Although everyone in the group is pretty good –looking.

"Wow, that's amazing." Lumigid siya sa harapan ng dalagita at binuhat ito pababa ng swing. "But before going anywhere with them, we'll go visit first the stable. You want to learn horseback riding, right?"

Masiglang tumango si Shannon.

MULA SA sinasakyang kabayo di-kalayuan ay pinapanood ni Ray sina Shannon at Athrun na nagpapalipad ng saranggola kasama ang mga kaibigan ng binatilyo sa may patag sakop ng malawak na open garden sa likod ng mansion.
