For the past few days, I busied myself with academic works. Gia and I spent most of our Friday night typing and conceptualizing our case presentation and reports. She knew that I was going to be occupied this weekend because of family events and stuffs that's why we did all our group assignments before I went back home. I also managed to finish all my nursing care plans and case studies on cardiomyopathy and myocardial infarction. That was the most productive two days of my life.
"Blair, are you ready?" My dad asked from the other side of the door.
"Yes, dad!" I said as I opened the door of my room.
"Let's go?"
Never akong tinawag ni Dad na Gab or Gabby kasi daw it sounded like a boy's name kaya he calls me by my second name. I was the only girl in the family, and also the youngest. I have three older half brothers, kuya Braden, kuya Alexander and kuya Cameron, and all of them are pilots. Lahat sila kakauwi lang rin galing flight last night.
Today we're going to attend my Grandmom's 75th birthday in Tagaytay, and we are having a luncheon party.
I am seated in between kuya Alex and kuya Cam kaya hindi ako makapagpahinga ng maayos kasi ang kulit nila, parang mga bata.
I checked my phone to stalk Mason's Instagram. Pero naunahan niya ako because when I opened my IG and Twitter, there's already follow requests from him. Crush talaga ako nito.
The drive from Makati to Tagaytay is so tiring because of the heavy traffic. It took us almost 3 hours bago makarating.
We finally reached our destination, thanks to Waze. The venue was simple. It was a wide space open field garden overlooking the Taal Lake. There are four long tables at the center which can accommodate at least 20 persons each. The buffet table is on the left side of the venue along with the servers. Marami na ring tao ang narito. The whole clan is here and some close family friends.
I was wearing a plain white flowy dress with long, puffed sleeves and paired with nude block heels.
"Happy birthday, Granny! I love you so much, you look so radiant today!" I said as I hugged her.
My eyes widened when I saw Mason.
He also looked shocked when he saw me then smiled when he recovered.
"Maverick, this is my granddaughter, Gabby. She's Marcus' daughter."
The old man offered his hand at me. "Nice to meet you, Gabby. I'm Maverick, I've been friends with your grandfather since flight school, and this my grandson, Mason."
