I just got back in Manila from my flight in Sydney a few minutes ago. After doing the final checkup of the aircraft, I headed out the airport. It was eight o'clock in the morning and I was exhausted already because my co-pilot was a newbie so I had to do a lot of tutoring and teaching for the whole flight while flying the plane.

I drove straight to St. Lukes, wanting to see Gabby again. I was getting tired of it already. I wanted to see her. So I will.

I dialed her number while driving and put her on Bluetooth. It rang thrice before she answered the call.

[Um... Hello?]

"Gabby, are you busy?" I asked, my right hand was in the steering wheel while the other was playing with my lips as I spoke.

[I'm doing my rounds.]

"I wanna see you, I'm on my way to St. Lukes right now. Kahit sandali lang." I told her.

[Mason...]

"Pagbigyan mo na ako, Gab, I just got back from Sydney and I'm tired. I wanna see you, please." I pleaded with my voice.

There was a long pause on the other end of the line, baka iniisip niya kung papayag ba siya na pumunta ako o hindi. Malapit na rin ako sa ospital kaya even if she says no, I wouldn't turn my car around. I'm so tired but I needed to see her. Kahit saglit lang. Kahit isang sulyap lang.

[Okay, fine. But I need to go back to my post agad. I have patients waiting for me.]

I think I just did an imaginary congratulatory dance. I smiled as I spoke. "Thank you. Malapit na ako. I'll see you soon."

As soon as I reached the hospital, I immediately parked outside and waited for her in the lobby. I texted her, informing her about my arrival and after a few minutes, she emerged from the elevator and greeted me with a bright smile. She looked so damn beautiful with her long brown hair down and her light yellow vintage dress under her long white coat.

Her aura exudes calmness and tranquility.

She gave me peace without even knowing it.

My arms moved on their own accord and hugged her tight when she reached me. But I accepted everything she offered.

Beggars can't be choosy.

I'd settle for this for now.

"You look tired." Her brows furrowed as she looked at me.

I yawned, getting sleepy. "I just got back from my flight from Sydney."

She pursed her lips, wrinkling her nose. "Bakit dito ka dumeretso, dapat nagpahinga ka muna."

"I'm rested now that I see you." I smiled.

"Mason, lagi ka na lang mukhang pagod 'pag nakikita kita. Why are you working yourself to death? You need to rest." She said, crossing her arms.

"I got used to it, been doing it for years." I shrugged.

"You should stop doing that now. Hindi maganda 'yan para sa'yo. Lagi ka na lang pagod, what if bigla ka na lang bumagsak diyan because of overexertion? Get some rest."

"Yes, mom." I grinned at her, remembering how many times she called me dad before.

She narrowed her eyes. "I'm serious, Mason. Magpahinga ka muna. Don't work too hard baka magkasakit ka niyan."
